Mizuki Konno is your typical high school junior at Yanno Prefectural High School. Like many teens her age she is studying hard for college and when she has some down time she likes to fuss over fashion and make-up. While she may not be one of the class elites, Mizuki is fortunate to be on the right side of her class's idols. But that might not settle well with those who are in a similar academic status but not so lucky with their social lives.

Mizuki really isn't a bad person. However she understands that she is one of the haves. And even if she only has so a strand to hold on to, that's much more than the introverts or the socially inept.

On the day of the field trip, Mizuki's position with the cool kids cannot be better. But now a good portion of her class are now firmly against her. While this "lower" clique may not be united, their hatred is much stronger than their differences. Unfortunately tragedy strikes in the form of a traffic accident. And now the class is split into two new groups...the living and the dead!

Almost the entire class has been wiped out and the five remaining girls are injured and lost in the wilderness. They also hate each other, and in a mix of Lord of the Flies with Heathers these girls begin to assert their wills against each other to try to survive while enacting a new class structure where looks and style is no longer the definition of influence.

Interesting, but the scanlation group sucks

50 posts just to read a chapter is ridiculous for this scanlation group. I know its hard work, but still 50 is too much and what they're doing is pointless as it excludes everyone from their group. I honestly don't have time to post 50 posts each chapter! I read up to the tenth chapter, and its a total of 23 chapters. For the 13 chapters, I would have to post a total of 650 posts just to finish this series!

Good start but impossible to continue reading

The series is enjoyable and has a interesting setting. It has quite good art and the storyline isn't bad.
However, the scanlators policy of releases makes it impossible for normal readers to continue reading this series. For those who have the patience to wait until the scanlators change their release policy, I would highly recommend this series.
If you don't have the patience, this series is not for you. >.<

Good start, then it goes down

The first half of the first chapter (v1c1a) is a real pearl. Smart and cynical. It would have been a perfect one-shot. I strongly recommend to read at least this.

After this begins a more classical survival manga. Up to now (v3c10), it's clearly a psychological manga (not a brainless action one like "Eden no Ori"). The drawings are better than average, but with scarce backgrounds. The strong point is that the characters are quite interesting, and less stereotypical than in "Metro Survive" or "7 seeds", though there's nothing fully new.

I'm just anxious about the next chapters because the plot has been getting weaker. I don't mind a few minor inconsistencies, but I'm not at ease with 2 major bugs in this series' scenario. So many series fall down after a promising start.

Update (chapter 20)
Unfortunately, the series did not keep its promises. The art went down. The characters went dull and more stereotypical. Nothing cynical in the latest chapter (c20), nothing original or just interesting. I'm dropping this series.

Another reason for dropping this is, as other reviewers commented, the strange policy of the scanlating group. They want everyone interested in the manga to post in their forum 50 messages for each chapter. I bet this group doesn't like its manga enough to want everyone to read it. They must feel so lonely, they want "friends", even fake friends. It's quite amusing indeed, as this hypocrisy is the starter theme of the manga.

Interesting Manga, Needs a Better Scanslation Group

The manga's been interesting up to the chapter I've read it, which is chapter 10, but I soon fell into disappointment as I couldn't find the next chapter. Then I realized that 3D was doing the scanslations for this manga. Though I'm not interested in this manga to press any further than I have, I'm still disappointed in this group. It's near impossible to find their releases on their actually website and if nobody has uploaded their manga before they remove the link, it's practically impossible to find the manga.

Advice for anyone intending to read Limit: Don't read it as you'll be disappointed in 3D's poor service. I know it's their choice to take the manga down after a week since they translated the manga for us but, still, if no one can read their scans, then what's the point of translating it anyway?

Anyway, if you choose to read Limit, there's chapters 1-10 out there as well as the ending. The ending should be obvious by the 10th chapter though so it's probably not even worth reading.

I loved the ten first chapters! I find this manga quite original and fascinating. The only problem here is the scanlation, of course. I wouldn't recommend anyone to start reading it on the net if you don't have the possibility to buy it ( like me ), because even if you're brave enough to post 50 messages per week ( O.O ) you'll have a huge gap from chapter 11 to 22. I really don't understand why the scanlators make their work public as it's absolutely not for everyone.

The first chapters seem very interesting. However, the 50-post-in-their-forums per chapter, makes it impossible to follow. I understand it's their hard work, but still, it's kind of too much. So, if anybody manages to get all the chapters, I would be really, really thankful if they could upload it somewhere, and announce here, so fans of the series could finish the story.

I really like limit, but this translation-team...
what about putting their logo all over the faces, you can´t see the faces and sometimes you can´t even read the text!?!
furthermore why do they only keep it a few weeks in the webconfused
if nobody´s copied them you can´t read it...
so if you´re not patient and want to read the whole manga it´s better to wait until you can buy it somewhere or to don´t read it
(sry for my bad grammar :-( )

I am a huge fan of this mangaka, and am so glad that Vertical picked up LIMIT. I've enjoyed the first volume immensely, and can't wait for more! Also thanks everyone for letting me know that the scanlators are unreliable, saves me the time looking for the chapters needlessly!

And not because of the manga that is pretty much awesome, but because of the scanlators. They put this big watermark all over the character's faces. You can hardly see anything on the page not to mention read it...grrr. I really hope another scanlation group will pick this up and release a readable version for this, because the story is definitely worth it.

The plot's interesting ^^. Even though I don't like tragedy manga but when I read Suenobo Keiko's manga, I can't stop but keep reading it. I also like Suenobo's art :"D. The main character's cute, I really Iike her hair style xD
Btw, I can't get what the scanlations's doing :-|, there's no way I can spam 50 posts in a week to get the chapters release in only this week. Look at the top posters in the forum, I wonder who can keep reading the scanlations's manga though 8-}
