To all those who whine and hate this quite honestly, rather brilliant manga

To all those who whine and hate this quite honestly, rather brilliant manga:
I'm dead tired of all you people scattered all over of the net who unnecessarily spite this manga and it's ending;

Spoiler Alert!
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
Manaka didn't choose Aya? Big Deal.

There's a reason for that, Love however strong and deep, if not shown and acknowledged, is pointless and wasted.
Aya is the epitome of this.
Stop & think of Manaka and his happiness, and Tsukasa as a person and her happiness and what she meant as an entity in his life. Quite simply, she was there for him and also primarily, she is more interesting a character than that of Aya.
Also,
Most of the complains I've come across over the years...
"I expected Manaka to end with Aya from the start, I'm so disappointed... How could he do this?!!"

When you read a book, you make and share the journey along with its characters, after a point, even the characters do grow out of their creators visions and develop their own personalities.
It becomes abundantly evident, that

Nishino’s
the girl over the course of the manga. Why did you read this manga in its entirety in the first place if you're just too daft to realize the journey the characters make from the start to the end. It makes perfect sense.
It's not about you or your expectations.
It’s about the characters and their world.
How much more of a self-centered ignorant person can you get?

(Rant ends here.)

P.S: Mizuki Kawashita, thank you for your brilliant work, you are an important inspiration to a fellow comic book artist.

Great manga

If you were an 80s or 90s boy... this was the manga you hid under your bed, praying your parents would never find it. Some say that Love Hina is the best shounen romance manga, but I think Kawashita Mizuki-sensei topped it with Ichigo 100%.

Like most romance mangas, the girls are lovable and the readers can pick their favorites depending on their preferences. What really separates this manga from the rest is the amazing character development of the four main characters, Toujo, Nishino, Satsuki and Makana. You actually understand why each of these amazing girls have fallen for our goofy protagonist; something that is often missing in other romance mangas. Most importantly, readers, male or female can relate to the protagonist. Manaka sn't some overly innocent character that you can't connect to, and his struggles in choosing the right girl is perfectly understandable.

This is Kawashita Mizuki-sensei's best work, and in my opinion, the greatest shounen romance manga ever. The ending may be disappointing depending on which girl you were rooting for, but nevertheless strongly recommended.

I want an opportunity to Toujou Aya. For me it's a great character, just Kawashita respectfully gave more importance to other characters. I believe wholeheartedly that was a great character, and it is so far. Not evolved, he did not grow, just ended as it began. Sorry for the spoiler. It is only my opinion may not agree with me

Redeeming Ending
by _xyz_
March 7th, 2012, 6:20pm
Rating: 9.0  / 10.0
It has the typical Shounen ingredients; an indecisive protagonist, a love polygon, ecchi scenes in almost every chapter, dragging on forever, unnecessary drama, misunderstandings coming on over us out of the blue and so forth. I will not not deny this, and clichéd series like this can make for an enjoyable story, too, especially if the art is beautiful. HOWEVER what totally blew me away was the ending. It was unexpected and sweet! Junpei finally mans up and chooses his girl. I will not say which one. That is for you to find out. But I have to say I was pleasantly surprised by this turn of events. Not many Shounen mangaka are this spunky!
Therefore, mostly because of the exceptional ending, a 9. If it had not been so good, I would have given this a much lower score.

My opinion.

Well in my opinion this is one of the best, if not the best comedy/romance manga's that i've read up till now. And i've read a lot of them... a lot. Anyway, generally it was normal comedy/romance scenes... The kind of scenes before the whole "borderline h" genre. Anyway, what differentiates this manga from general comedy/romance manga's is the ending. Whoever is interested in reading comedy/romance should read this one... and i'll tell you this... you won't guess the ending biggrin. I'd give it an 11 rating if i could because this manga is that exceptional.
My rating... 10.

The Best manga for me

I did not expect a lot from this manga at first. I've read it almost 4 years ago and stopped until last week. I started it all over reading it again. It's the only manga i read that gave me this feeling of happiness, it made me feel satisfied. The artwork and character development seems to be related to real life! Though i love reading manga all over again, this time, it made me feel that i should move on to the next chapter. haha! Though it is finished, Mizuki Kawashita is really great from artwork to story lines, how the characters develop and such. Overall, this is the best manga that i have read! Thanks to all that contributed to the development of ichigo 100%!

Good series - glaring problem

Overall I really liked it this series. There was quite a bit character development, however the ecchi seemed out of place. It was probably going to be up there in my top 5 romance mangas. 'WAS' being the key word. This is obviously a controversial subject so I won't go into too much detail on my thoughts, since they mirror the opinions of others.

What really surprised me what that after finishing it, due to the ending I actually felt like I wasted my time reading this manga. This never happened before and hasn't happened since - and I have read some really crappy manga recently. I can only conclude that it's because I saw it as such a good series up to that point that the ending felt like a waste of a great series. It's like being at the crest of a roller coaster and instead of going down the tracks it just falls off the side.

It actually still bothers me today when I think about it. Anyway, without the ending as it was, I would probably have given this series a 9. The ending just didn't make a lot of sense after all the other developments and build-up. :sigh

Must read romantic manga.

I just had to register for Ichigo 100%. I read the manga back in 2005-2006 for the 1st few chapters and forgot about it until last week. So I went ahead and download every chapters (we don't have shop selling Ichigo 100% around here).

IMO, the ending is Perfect!! Although it did felt rushed, actually it was quite well done, considering the mid story moves pretty slow. Many questions were answered. It plays with readers emotions, absorbing us as we continue reading. Ichigo 100% is a masterpiece of romantic comedy manga. Read it whether you despise ecchi or not. Even without the tons of eechi scenes (except few that essential), Ichigo 100% could still pull it of and still rated as a masterpiece.

I also felt Ichigo 100% deserved to be a live action, a full high school romantic drama, without the ecchiness/fanservice, unless in certain scene where they are essential. I think it'll succeed and set pretty high benchmark, given only essentials scenes are filmed and follow 100% manga's storyline. Well, if I had the money, I would have gone to Kawashita-sensei with this drama proposal.

Seriously, whoever did rate this manga as at 1 or 2 or 3 or 4, should be kicked in their butt. I could only say this, (could be spoiler alert!!)

...prefers reading about a very indecisive protagonist who apparently can't decide upon several girls who he likes whose strong points often conflict with his love choices. It rather takes long to get to the point and often have scenes and conversations that have been rehashed from one chapter to the next tenth or so.. But, the ending surely does impress everyone and questions keep on coming!
