Perfect! Where have you been all my life?

The lead girl is strong, makes her own decisions, and doesn't let people push her! Yet she isn't a tomboy or portrayed as masculine in any way. The plot is very interesting and it's easy to connect with all the characters. The art is wonderful! I'm DYING to know what happens! Every time I reach the end of a new chapter, I just can't take it because I want more! Even though it seems that there's nothing entirely unheard of in this manga (other than the extreme rarity of a strong, but not "manly" or "arrogant" female lead) it is still a rare gem of shoujo manga, in my opinion. Just give it a try!

I've had this series on my plan to read list for awhile now, but I had a lot of difficulty mustering the courage to begin it. I suppose I was just worried about having some sort of intense dislike for the main character and not be able to sympathize with her. I finally took the plunge and began the series, and now I'm just disappointed that there aren't more chapters for me to catch up on.

The mangaka makes it pretty clear from the very beginning what sort of personality Shiori has, and doesn't try to hide it in order to make her more likable. When I heard about her promiscuity with guys, the boyfriend-stealing, and the rude insults to her sister, I was definitely taken back. However, her good side begins to shine through and you can see her willingness to change. When thinking about her situation, if I were in her shoes, I don't think I could ever be as strong and persistent as she is and I admire her for it. As of now she has yet to regain her memories, but I find it immensely unlikely that she would ever return to her previous personality; she has overcome too much for that.

Spoiler (mouse over to view)
From the beginning I assumed that Shiori had some feelings for A-chan (even the summary sort of hints at it: "good looking older brother"), and I'm sure that she had those same feelings for him prior to her amnesia. I suppose the typical cliche could happen and they may find out that they aren't blood related, but I'm not sure how likely that is. However, in one of the chapters A-chan has a flashback which shows his Mother (I assume it's her) saying that she wishes he had never been born. So it's possible that she had an affair which resulted in A-chan, which would only make them half siblings. But who knows, we'll just see.

One of the better shoujo due to its heroine

Six Half takes the old 'amnesia' formula to new places because the protagonist, Shiori, is one of the strongest shoujo heroines I've ever seen. She's also very conscious of her own feelings, and since we're privy to her thoughts, even though she may act in callous, childish ways (such as to her supportive brother), I sympathize. Shiori is rare in that she's a dislikable heroine whose amnesia has made it plain to her how dislikable she was-- and this self-awareness, in turn, makes her into a LIKABLE protagonist. She's very human, too, and multidimensional. Yes, she's strong, but the overwhelming circumstances she finds herself in would bring down most people -- she has to deal with her growing self-hatred, her friends have deserted her, her sister hates her... even she would feel alone. Her resolve to change herself into a better person is admirable; this kind of self-fashioning goal isn't a common theme in shoujo, but it perfectly illustrates, to me, why she's a strong character.

I'm only on chapter 5, but so far I'm giving this manga a 9 for its strong beginning; I imagine that it'll continue to get better.

And am I the only one who would be totally fine if A-chan turned out to NOT be her blood-related brother? Because Shiori's lost her memory which means her personality's different...plus I'm wondering why she's a blonde (looks that way) while her brother and sister have dark hair. Ah well~ Kai seems like a nice guy.

Ah, as a final note -- I like how (as of where I am now) there doesn't seem to be a huge emphasis on romance. Right now, it concentrates on the heroine's struggles.

EDIT: Caught up to chapter 11, and OH MY, I cannot wait for the next update. I can't remember the last time I was eager for more chapters...

...especially regarding the plotline. In many ways, it's similar to a typical shojo manga with romance and etc... but what makes this story unique is the protagonist, who is not your typical heroine. She's strong but relatable, and the way she deals with her situation is pretty realistic, which makes for a very likeable character. In addition to that, the story is full of little mysteries and missing pieces, which also makes this manga a surprisingly interesting read.

I really like this one! Shii-chan is just so cool. and so strong. It somewhat reminds me of the Korean manhwa called Lover Discovery but this is much more interesting. I really admire the strength of current Shiori and how she is determined to change. I'm actually really interested to see whether this will change once she gets her memories back. I always, always liked this manga but I instantly fell in love after this line, "Why do I have to be punished for the things that SHE did?" Well, I'm excited! can't wait for the next chapter..since I can't find any raws..I'm gonna bury myself in a hole..:'( lol. >_<!

please... please... please... Chapter 5 makes me want to screaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaam. Cliffhangers are the WORST! This is a really good manga. It's about a girl who loses her memories, and tries to relive her life as who she is now. It's really good as she's finding herself all over again, yet her memory slowly comes back so she has to reconcile with who she was. The heroine is really strong, so it's a very enjoyable read. Very much recommended.

As of chapter 4, I can say that this manga is entirely what I wanted when I was craving a GOOD shoujo. It's about a "Queen Bee" that lost her memories and is now a regular person who is targeted by the other "Queen Bee's". She is actually NOT annoying(at least to me) and is very determined to change it seems as of chapter 4. She doesn't really know much about her old self, except by the ghastly rumors about her now. But it's a really nice shoujo! TRY IT!

With three chapters thus far, I have to say I'm very intrigued with the story. It really doesn't seem like other amnesia stories and so, it has caught my attention.

I am very curious about her past and whether or not the heroine will accept it or strive to change. smile
