Description
Despite the fact her mother's a model, (famous for being on the magazine Charisma Housewife), Sae's usually left home alone. And although she has what classmates call a 'sub-space stomach', Sae can't cook. In an attempt to help a friend with her love, Sae becomes closer with a classmate named Yuuki, who works at a cafe. Will Sae actually learn to cook? Will this closeness develop into a one or two-sided love?

Plotless, but fluffy and cute.

As the previous commenters have mentioned, Hatsukoi Lunch Box is pretty much devoid of a plot. Sae and Yuuki basically help a different couple either get together or make up in each chapter, and the miraculous Power of Bento solves each and every problem they come across - including helping them find their own dream careers. The romance is pretty light, too, but despite all that, this series is like a really satisfying dessert. It's light, cute and feel-good, and the gorgeous art is a bonus. If you love food and need a quick pick-me-up, this is the right manga for you.

it's fluffy and enjoyable...no content, but definitely enjoyable. VERY simple...so it's a good thing it's short.

Spoiler (mouse over to view)
If I had to make any comparisons, i would say mix vegetables is better by far
However, I was extremely disappointed by kitchen princess once the storyline went WTF when a character died.
So, this hatsukoi lunchbox is decent and enjoyable

if i was to make any ranking

mixed vegetable (for quality)
yumeiro patisserie (because i like reverse harem and it sorta has a story line. ^_^)
hatsukoi lunchbox (cute and simple works)
kitchen princess (it started out well until they killed a corner of the love triangle)

Not too much I can really say about this manga - basically, it's just Sae and Yuuki finding a new person unable to confess their feelings each chapter, and using food to help them do it. Little to no conflict/drama, and just little sprinklings of romance. Oh! And the recipes included looked yummy. smile

Generally, cute and plotless, but good if you just want something quick and light. I enjoyed it ^_^

It wasn't very special. I thought it was a lot like Kitchen Princess except Kitchen Princess had more plot. This was very similar to the filler episodes of any anime where you just get a taste of what the characters can do. I did like all the recipes though! I always get in the mood to start cooking! haha

Yeah. it's plotless. Nothing much, especially no drama, no deep thought but I still like it very much. The art is good and clean. And I enjoy reading the recipe of every single chapter.
I recommend these series ! XD

I read the French output version few time ago .
The stories developed in each chapter are rather cute and everything could be really nice ...

But... Because there is a major but, there's still something that hinder me to get into the story. Yuuki was talk (and everytime), as a real cookbook... What more natural == "

In short, it's too bad.
