I really love her art style myself. Both the stories in the manga I think should of been longer though. Mephisto should of been a complete one shot and Baku really should of been a series.
Love it!!

I love this manga-ka's works, but this is probably one of my least favorite of her stuff. I felt that the first story ended too abruptly. You flip the page, and it's already the end. It's not smooth and graceful as in her other works. I didn't like that part too much, especially in comparison to "Asian Beat". And the second story didn't satisfy at all. Many characters were introduced, but there wasn't too much of a story to me there. There wasn't much plot or character development.
In terms of plot, I think the first story was better. Something changed, at least. The art style remains the same as it does in the author's other works, and it's easily recognizable. But in terms of story, the other mangas written by this author are better by far.

i like the stylistic approach here, but it is too simplified that the lines cannot convey the appropriate info or emotions. the shot is not differentiated enough, there are too few expressions, and the paneling could get a bit more dynamic. it feels like style over substance.
the characters also need a few level up. there is nothing interesting about them that make the reader want to know more. the character design is too cliche, and their personality are bland. one can't expect much developments from one volume, but at the very least the starting personality should grab the reader.
now, I kind of like the progression of the first story, but I think it is quite fast. the relationships between the mc and the antagonist and his adopted brother is quite ambiguous, but I like to think it is another story to be told. the ending is a bit abrupt. the second story is severely lacking in development. i can accept slice-of-life stories, or case-of-the-day, but the case have no interesting message or mystery or character revelation.
all in all, a forgettable read.

Definitely beautiful art and story. Though the art style leans more towards very clean, edgy lines. Very thin, angled characters. Something some will like but others will not.
I like the storylines because it has a cynical sort of hopeless and hopeful at the same time. Kind of like, you can't help what you're feeling because that's what life is all about. A favourite mangaka of mine.

it's not like those manga that are really heart-warming or those that leaves a huge impact/impression, but it's definitely worth reading. the stories are very sweet and the characters are really cute!!
