Okay.

Before I even begin my review, I'd like to kindly tell the people who complain about updates to shut the hell up. Obviously, you have never been part of a scanlation group. Staff have absolutely NO obligation to fans who demand for English translations. Phew.

Now that that's done... I'd like to say that I have finished this manga. (In Japanese, of course). I have to say that the story is definitely better in the beginning than toward the end, but it has its ups and downs. Consistency, therefore, is not this manga's strongest suit.

What I think is strong is the main female lead. She does have, as some people have noticed, a real honest-to-God personality, and it doesn't at all feel cookie-cutter like most shoujo manga characters have. Unfortunately, Ookami actually has a pretty cliche personality, but at least he's balanced out by Tora. Mii (the main character) is spunky, a fujoshi, and actually grows to understand herself. You have to admire a character that comes to realizations on her own without the male lead spelling it out for her. Anyway, as far as helpful advice from the older male leads, it's really bad. Neither of them are really people types, and for the majority of the manga the closest and most evident relationship is between the two of them. (Note, this relationship is NOT just about bringing out the comedic factor in the main girl's fujoshi-ness, it actually comes into play later).

The relationships between the main characters are well-done (Tora, Ookami, Mii), but any other characters just lack luster and seem to be just there. They have flimsy personalities that can be on occasion, irritating. I just kind of ignored them, since for the most part, they have little bearing on the plot. Ookami, through his friendships with Mii and Tora, actually becomes... less disagreeable, I suppose. I can't say I ever liked his character.

This is probably the only manga I've read where I prefer the girl's character to BOTH main male leads. Unfortunately, the entire manga does not revolve around her. It actually has loads of side plots that I didn't care for and simply skimmed through. (You can do that without ruining the story, yes).

Overall, I'd say if you like the main girl's personality in the first chapter, you'll probably like it. If you get to the fifth chapter and get tired of her or her male counterpart (Ookami), just drop it. It's not good enough to trudge through 6 volumes to reach some sort of epiphany. I promise, it's just shoujo. With a decent female lead, but still. The depth is minimal, but it lies mostly within the character relationships, which I have previously stated are the high points to this manga.

I find be a little biased in this review considering that I wanted to slap Ookami a few times, but I can't say this manga was bad. It wasn't great, given the oddly episodic side plots (which I didn't care for) and the lack of depth with the male lead, but it was readable. The pacing is good, the main plot isn't terrible nor incoherent, so I'd say it's better than the average shoujo manga.

A rare student-teacher where the heroine has a backbone.

Interesting! Had never heard of this one before until I stumbled across it by accident not so long ago, and I am so glad I did! This seems to be one of the rare student-teacher shoujo's where the shoujo heroine actually has a spine. Mii being a fujoshi also has some added benefits, as it makes for some funny moments when she falls into her own BL delusions. The two male leads are interesting in their own right, but I have a soft spot for Ookami and his tsundere moments, as I tend to with any male shoujo lead when he adorably goes into denial about something (a trend started by Dengeki Daisy, hehe).

The plot seems to be off to a good start, but I'm assuming this will last for a while longer, because I feel we havent got to the good stuff yet as of chapter 6. Art is nice, not pretty, but easy on the eyes. To me, it's a shoujo not as good as some I've come across, but still much better in quality than many others that I have read. Hell, KAMIO Youko should be congratulated alone for producing a student-teacher shoujo were the heroine is actually is a little unique, with the added benefit of having a spine, and the capability to defend herself if need be.

It's definately something worth reading when you're in the mood for a funny and light read.

Kamio always has this sort of charm. Not to say that her mangas are always amazing its just that they have something interesting in them. Sure, Ookami and Tora are kind of cliched but i think this manga was written not to be revolutionary but just to excite a younger, female audience.

I like it, its a great and simple read.

Thanks for the updates so far smile

*edits* Wait in chapter five Mii is so annoying...then again Yayoi is really annoying too. I wonder if its like a social norm to like teachers and go out with them even though its illegal....?

The heroine's strong, the art's good, and the development would be rated a 7.5...but seriously?!?!? 268 days since the last update? What IS that? They should be ashamed of themselves.
