Description

There exists a horrific newspaper called the Fear Newspaper that foretells of people’s extreme misfortunes. Kagata Mei, a male high-school student, has been cursed with this evil spirit and has to fight against it on a daily basis. He is forced by the Fear Newspaper to stop the events on the paper from occurring or face the consequences of his life being shortened by 100 days for every article he is unable to prevent. What makes this horrific situation even worse is that no one else but Mei can see the cursed newspaper and so he is left to undertake this task alone.

Confusing

The plot is actually quite nice and innovative. It may not be the first of it's kind, but it was still rather interesting, as the 'haunted newspaper/book' genre is actually quite rare. However, the art was rather hard to see through (since the newspaper had so much detail, kudos to the artist for that), and that made the entire story rather off putting, since the newspaper appeared in almost every page to sneer at the main character.

There was also a few plot holes, I suppose-

why did the main not lose his 100 days (or whatever was stolen from him during the actor's arc) when his schoolmates were killed by the bus? Was it only because only two people got killed, not all 4? Plus, why does he keep going around telling people that it was a 'prophecy' when no one believes him, in the first place? It's rather stupid, I feel. Not exactly a plot hole, but more of a...random, semi page filler detail.

But overall the manga was average. Nothing I'd find just to re-read, but a good time passer.
