Description
As a manga author of a semi known series, Hirahara Daichi has the talent for coming up with stories, but is incredibly lazy and irresponsible. That leaves his two daughters, middle school student Ayumi and the even younger Sora, to pick up the slack. With the help of the assistant, Akane, the two kids are forced to draw and complete the series every month if they want an income for the household, a task no child should burden themselves with. On top of that, they must do this without people finding out because it will ruin the credibility of Daichi as an author and put a stop to the series....

This is mediocre at best and even after only 3 chapters it already feels like its dragging on.
First off the dad is the worst character ive seen in a long time. His running gag isnt funny (he runs away...get it) and will never be. The way to make that joke work is to make that character likable first and then have them shirk responsibility only to be dragged back to do it. Or have serious moments in which this type of situation is addressed. Unfortunately none of these happen, instead im left with a character who i didnt meet till the last 5 pages of the chapter and the only info that i know about him is that he's a shitty parent. This makes me not like this character and assume they are the bad guy in this story.
Next is the assistant. I almost hate her as much as i hate the dad, she sees how the dad leaves his two adolescent daughters alone for weeks at a time and treats it like its just a funny quirk. She then goes right back home, also leaving two young girls at home alone.
The girls themselves dont have much personality at all, and yet i cant hate them since i feel so sorry for them (maybe i have dad abandonment issues?) The older sisters gag is she cant make progress in love cause her love interest is too interested in her dads work. She is also the one "chasing" her dad trying to get him to do work as she constantly worries that they will run out of money and have to drop out of school....funny right. The younger one...i honestly dont know, it feels like she doesnt have a joke to give, just being a poor girl who shouldnt have to do all this work. I spend half my time hating the dad and assistant, and the other half wondering where the hell is CPS.
This should be classified as a shonen manga and a crappy one at that. The characters are flat, not likable, and dont react in believable ways, the jokes aren't funny, and the art isnt good enough to make up for any of its pitfalls. The only hope i have is that the editor finds out the girls are drawing the manga and the dad is leaving and calls CPS. He then volunteers to let the stay with him in his small apartment in a quirky slice-of-life comedy about learning how to be a parent to two pubescent girls . Now that would be an interesting read.
