Description
Brilliant and overachieving, Misaki Ayuzawa is the President of the Student Council at Seika High School, formerly a boys' school. Unfortunately, most of the students are still male and stuck in their slovenly habits, so man-hating Misaki really socks it to 'em in an attempt to make the school presentable to attract more female students. But what will she do when the sexiest boy in school finds out that after school, Misaki works in a maid cafe.

This is definitely my top favorites of all time! I watched the anime before reading the manga and completely fell in love with it! It's just so refreshing to see the main female lead to be such a strong, determined, smart and caring WOMAN. Misaki is probably my favorite female character of all time because she doesn't rely on the guy for anythning even though he's practically perfect and can do absolutely anything not to mention is a complete genius. Even though he's a total prince, she's the type of character to do things herself, with her own power, her own strength and I really admire that about her.
The reason why this manga is so special is because the relationship between Misaki and Usui goes beyond physical appearance and kindheartedness that seems to be the "typical" in shoujo manga's. They have this strong relationship where they rely on their own strength instead of each others but always support and look out for one another.
I also love how Usui kind of breezes through and Misaki works her ass off. It's such a contrast which makes the story very interesting! I love every single character introduced and every situation they've encountered and overcame.
Loved this manga, love the main characters and side characters, loved the ending!

Highly Recommended.

Charcters: Usui Takumi is pretty much the perfect guy-- just my opinion. I've actually searched for manga with similiar male characters. Ayuzawa Misaki is a strong, independent female lead and an enjoyable character but it did kind of become a bit much at times. Her stubbornness and attitude towards the end is what prompted the 8/10 rating.

Storyline: The storyline at first was adorable and I couldn't read enough of it, but around the last 30 or so chapters I started to find myself bookmarking it and coming back a week or so later. Progression went from fast to semi-slow and jumpy, as if the author was losing interest.

Overall: Even with the lack of progression and Misaki's personality at the end, I would still say that this is in the top 15 manga I've ever read. Definitely worth a read.

Despite what anyone can say, this is one of the mangas I've read and would reread because of the comedy and slow romance it had. Besides this is one of the ones I love to read in my high school years and had made me smile when I'm feel down smile though I'm sad to see it end but to the very end it has been funny ^^

Good Read

I'm honestly in love with this manga (all the way till the end the england arch). It's cute, funny, and a good read. It's crazy how Usui has been aiming for Misaki since Day 1 always found the love story as the subplot while Misaki's drive to make things better for everyone else as the main plot. A Pleasant Read

I think I started reading this in 2009 when I bought the first volume at Waterstones and I was hooked. The releases were agonizingly slow and soon (after the 10th volume I think) they stopped being released entirely out here. I was mortified to say the least. It was such a briliant story. However, to my amazement I found something called scanlations and joined this awesome community of angry otakus waiting for their next fix of mangas.

Well, besides how I came across this, this story was pretty good. The first couple of volumes really grab you and hold your attention, but I think it does become a little dull. Usui dull? Blasphemy! Yeah, but it's true and sorry to the people that think this is "the best shoujo of all time." I don't like to tell people they're wrong, but there ARE much better shoujos, but this one definitely ranks high up there. The characters were great, the storyline was interesting, the drama was a bit annoying, but the ending was pleasant. Maybe not what I thought it would be, but better than some other endings that are absolute trash and makes me regret the effort I put into reading the story.

Anywho, it was good. Definitely one of those mangas every girl will probably like. Nothing to rant or rave about. It really didn't grab my heart like some other mangas do, but it DID leave a sense of lost and that "I can't believe it's over" feeling when I finished. I think that's a key quality to a good manga and shows that it left you with a big impression. So it's good, not the best, but still something that I'm sure I'll read again in the future.

The ending took me by surprise, though I knew it would end sooner or later. It was a good manga but it would've been unnecesary to drag it more than that. Perhaps the ending was too rushed as everything was solved in the last two or three chapters, the last one having most of it. I liked the ending anyway..

The only character I'll really miss since I love him with all my heart is Usui Takumi, the perfect man, the best of all beautiful men, because of his abilities and looks. He was perfectly drawn, it couldn't have been better and his personality was lovely >.< and captivating.

strted good..had alot of incoherencies.... but...the last few parts
oooo dear lord...seriously.... and then even worse with the last chapter.... man such a horrible ending... happy ..and funny..but so uncreative..rushed and pointlessly detailed in the most unessary ways and absolutely shalllow and undescriptive in any good ways.. and it left big mark on all the niceness of the stuff b4....

regardless.... it was rather fun...aside from the last chapter ( o god..) and the england arc (pretty bad and incoherent all over with many wtf moments)
would have been a 8-9 if it werent for these 2... 8 if it only had the england arc or similar problem.... 8.5 for having a final chapter (few chapters like tht) [despite being reeeeally bad its not a whole arc but these few counted as half of an entirely horrible arc]...both of them together bring them down under 7 in a negatively synergistic manner

still worth trying

I'm used to loved it for the beginning, after 9 volumes, I still try to read and hope it will be surprising me, but meh it was pretty much boring. too late and looks the author missing the purpose of this story. end up with 6/10 just bcos the art is good.

This series has some cute moments, and if you like silly shoujo tropes you may find it mildly entertaining. I was able to stick with it to the end in spite of finding it less than compelling and lacking in originality. There are better series along the same lines, but if you have read them already and want more, this will do.
