Perspective makes a difference

So I remember reading this manga back when I was right out of high school. Now I'm much older and my perspective is completely different. I have to say overall, I enjoyed this manga. It pulls at all my OL romance heart strings... BUT! There's a lot I can't stand either. Stuff that I found romantic about Tsuge (the male love interest) back then (like his inability to communicate his feelings and his super alpha male stoic personality) I find highly frustrating now. He just doesn't give Saya, the protagonist, that emotional support that comes with being in a relationship. It's almost like the manga sends the message that men don't need to show their love in a relationship. As long as they're powerful and good looking, women will just hang on. I'm not new to shojou, so I get this isn't the only manga that does this - but for some reason this one just gets me a little more because he is in a direct position of authority over Saya, and he asks her out first, so you would expect to see him express himself at least a little. Saya is incredibly insecure, and while I find that frustrating on so many levels, it boils down to the fact that Tsuge just doesn't talk to her. I understand this is the main conflict within the relationship and the mange (i.e. it makes for good drama), but it takes SOOOO long for there to be actual character development and change. And even then, things don't change drastically, he still barely reaches out her - it's always her putting in this gigantic effort. The only time you can tell he cares about her is when they're intimate. I just feel like it sends the wrong message. It's like the fact that he's intimate with her means he loves her - and in some cases, I would buy this, depending on the character, but casual sex is such a big part of this manga, sex cannot be the gold standard of romance. There needs to be an actual relationship outside of the bedroom. Also the infidelity SERIOUSLY gets on my nerves. There are characters that have been cheated on, but have absolutely NO problem being in affairs with married men. There isn't even a dialogue about how counterintuitive this is.There isn't any remorse, it's all kind of justified as "oh well, he doesn't love his wife anyway so it's okay". Ummmmmm NO it's not okay. You don't love your wife? Get a divorce, end the relationship. I'm not a prude - hell, discuss being in an open relationship. Being cheated on is HUMILIATING. And there is absolutely no focus on that. And I wouldn't harp on about it normally, given this is a shoujo... but SO many of the characters in this manga do it, that I would think it's a central issue - but it isn't. You know what... I'm lowering my rating.

One of the great Josei mangas (my first!) which I really liked. Also, it shows the story of the friends of the main character.

I wonder why no one is continuing scanlating this rather than millions of ditzy-high-school girl mangs. XD

The more I read it, the more I love it! It has a lot of realistic elements that really make this manga stand out. A fine example of Josie, without being too emo. I really hope that a group will start scanlating it now that ShoujoMagic has dropped it as a project.

This is a surprisingly good office romance manga between 20 year old naive young subordinate (the type that I hate) and her boss - a mature, cool, unfazeable, successful, late-twenties guy (someone I hope for me XD). This is a Josei and the thoughts and the structure make it attractive and mollify the effect of a typical silly innocent young woman.
Its so rare to find an OL manga or a working woman romance manga, there are only a handful of them that actually make it to the scanlation groups and maybe with reason. THIS is one of the good ones. I am glad that Shoujo magic picked ths up but the releases are really slow. The best thing I like about this is that though it mainly deals with the main character's romance, it does look around. AND you cant hate anyone here. It might have too much drama than RL but it does make you relate to it.

Literally, almost every character is involved in an affair at one point or another and it's treated like it's completely normal, kind of made me feel like shit. But it was compelling; I wanted to know what happened next. Also the author kept interrupting their own story.

This author has a habit of introducing sub couples in the middle of the story even if the main couples relationship is not established yet...
I mean please do a proper build up for the main couple first before introducing other's love story... I mean it's a chore to read like really...
Definitely a no no no... I'm dropping this series!!!!

this manga is really great indeed. I'm soo sick of stupid shoujo that this can be the manga of the year for me. I'm looking for the updates and keep the good work for the scanlators, thank you all.
