Description
No matter what age it is, the "Bullied Child" will never disappear. The overweight, Middle School student, Haruyuki, was one such kid. The only time he could relax completely, was when he would play a squash game on the local network the school had set up. He loved playing this simple game as he can forget painful times while immersed in it.
It was fall. He was passing his time like this until one day, he had an encounter with the school's most beautiful, refined girl, "Black Snow Princess" (Kuroyukihime), which changed his life abruptly. Introduced to the software she transmitted, Haruyuki learned about "Accel World." A program that enhances one's mental capabilities, with certain side-effects.

well the first chap was very ineresting, i havent read anything like this in a while, also the main characters its like a FAT saito from zero no tsukaima lol, the only mangas that comes to mind right now about virtual worlds its .hack series, yureka and 1/2 Ouji. i have high expectations of this

EDIT: Now currently at chapter 5 i like more and more this manga, the current situation its extremely serious and things will make a complete plot twist... but i really hope that this dosnt turn in to tragedy =P

I would not listen to Leos Klein because while I do very much love the .hack series, this is a fairly good series.

A manga is not bad because the protagonist is not the ideal Gary Stu. In fact, it's better than having a perfect character as the main character. It gets very irritating and is extremely overdone. Leos obviously is the type who likes perfect things and gets irked by these little things that can make a manga much better.

This story would be very cilche, bland, dry, old, uninteresting if it was the same old set up.

I wont give a rating to this series yet, because it looks as if it would be quite long one (50+ chapters), and up until now in the story we only got some hits of what will happen.
Calling it .hack and GitS clone is too much (Like calling Harry Potter Lord of the Rings clone ;P ), and I can't wait to see how would this manga develop (I just hope it won't became some "tooooooo long for it's own good Naruto/Bleach/Death note clone. Well OK, Death Note is not THAT long).
Character are somewhat standard (school idol, childhood friend for "love interests, "Loser Vulgaris" for main character), but last (fifth) chapter has shown some unexpected development, an main character is actually designed in an interesting way (how many mangas have short overweight kids for main characters?).

Let's see what happens next, shall we?

Engaging plot. Decent artwork. Great potential. Interesting world.

Very rare for manga to have this kind of quality in just one chapter. Hopefully it will satisfy the expectations it whipped up.

I've just finished reading chapter 6, which I've been eagerly waiting for the past month. The plot is good! Never expected a fatass character could be so convincing for drama and kept me wishing for faster scans. The characters are not much away from their archetype as of late. The romance is at first hard to swallow, but is less of a cliché and kept me hoping that things would be well for Haru's love life! Hope he finds a way to get thinner!

Id have to say the same thing as the previous 2 people. Only half a chapter was scanlated and I was already hooked. Im going to give it a 10 because its very promising. Something about the artwork and the way the story is told draws me in.

But maybe I'm just a sucker for stories related to computers and such. (It has a virtual World)

I like this series alot I love SAO also by same author, the story is solid, the characters are new. Most people have hard time dealing with a fat character but honestly it is new to have a protagonist not with spiky hair or well roughly good-looking to bishonen, or mega-delinquent, but a common fat, bullied kid. So yeah good.

Cliffhanger city.

The chapters are unusually long at 40+ pages each yet the story reads pretty quickly. The art is alright with a fair amount of action. The main character is a wuss and a crybaby but since he is also a short lard ass it comes off as believable/bearable. That he has two girls liking him despite this may stretch belief a bit but the reasoning behind it is presented logically. My main gripe with the story is that from the first chapter to the seventh, it has been cliffhanger after cliffhanger after cliffhanger with no end in sight. This is a decent read but it definitely ain't a relaxing one.

Cliffhanger End

I like it. It gets typical shonen at some points.. but it is interesting in its own way. It has a nice concept. The characters have doubts everyone has, but the characters themselves are hard to relate to. Every chapter really does end pointlessly in a cliffhanger though. It's almost like normal chapter ends are on strike because the author slapped them with a fish....

I came across this manga by accident and didn't read it, I mean, the art looked really cliche, and the main character was a socially awkward fat guy who I couldn't relate to. The idea of the plot was what made me start reading it after I read the summery. I stopped reading it after a couple of pages in, but an hour later, I felt the urge to read it had become bigger for what ever the reason and I sat down and read it. It got really interesting! I looked past the art and what not, and the plot, setting and characterization were really great. I'm just not to happy with the unrealistic love that goes on in the series. Anyways, waiting for chapter 7. Hope the main character losses some weight and grows to twice his height so he doesn't look like a 5 year old.
