Blehh to the reviewer below me. I can't disagree more. The plot has great pacing. It's the author's best work IMO. It makes me crack up at places bigrazz hehehe. I like the main character and Skull a lot. And no character really annoys me here. Even the "antagonist" is starting to get some character development on him. Plus, I'm a sucker for sci-fi dystopian stories. oh and I really appreciate the fact that this is NOT your typical zombie-apocalypse story. It's more slice of life. biggrin I can't wait for more!! Added bonus that artwork is beautiful!

WHAT AM I DOING

There must be something wrong with me. I am an annoying, stereotypical girl who is mostly into romance and doesn't care too much at all for any violence. So why the FREAKING heck am I so FREAKING addicted to this manhwa.
This manhwa is almost everything I shouldn't like. The gore is off the charts according to my standards; it's basically The Walking Dead in a Korean webtoon. And the humor is crude and almost entirely sexual.
At first, the humor was so bad I almost stopped reading. I mean, it didn't stir a "ha" in me. And the violence wasn't that bad; the author even pixelated it at one point (even then my stomach churned, cuz I'm such a sissy). After about the first ten chapters, however, the gore got a whole lot worse, but the humor got a little bit funnier. Though it's still crude, and I am completely embarrassed to say that it has actually cracked me up a few times.
All that aside, the story actually gets SUPER interesting once Ju-Hyeon comes in. And never in my life have I seen sexier zombies. I am giving this a 9/10 because I am so unbelievably hooked.

This is pretty good I for one have never given a web comic a chance mostly cuz i couldn't figure out how to make cdisplay work with it-
HOWEVER! after i figured that part out and sat down and read this i was really amazed that this was a web comic the art is better than a lot of published works, the story starts off a bit flat but picks up quickly
really looking forward to more of this~

Since 8 chapters have been released so far, i can finally review this manhwa. Firstly the plot has potential. Its original so far with the main character being a zombie but im still hoping it gets better. I'm a big zombie fan so it is also a big plus. The comedy in the beginning of the manhwa were funny.

The bad thing about this manhwa so far is that the story hasn't progress in the first 8 chapters and the comedy in the manhwa is forced. The author is using the comedy routine where the characters in story knows that they are in a manhwa and its not funny at all. The author is still using the same comedy routine and its making me start to dislike this manhwa more and more. I'm hoping that he stops that repetitive not funny comedy routine.

So far I give this manhwa a 7/10 just because I'm still hoping it gets better.

Also I want to thank the scanlation group Easy Going Scans for picking up this manhwa.

Drama = excellent, comedy not so much

When I read the first two chapters done by Extras I was pretty darn impressed. It seemed to be a completely new take on the zombie genre, heavy with great drama. And I was quite disappointed when they told me they had stopped. Either because the translator was overworked or not interested or perhaps both.
When ch 3 was done much later by EGS...I thought I may have seen the reason why Extras chose to drop this one. It turned really, really zany and I was thinking ' sad They ruined it!". The comedy isn't always laugh-worthy, especially at the beginning. And, like Sahu says in one of the manny meta-jokes, "we had a good ambience going". fortunately after a while the drama comes back. Then it turns to comedy again >.>
This repeats a few times.
But most of the drama that's weaved through the series is pretty golden.

Which makes me think of starting to read Demon Lord again, which I originally found non-sensical and boring.

I kind of inwardly sigh most of the time when the jokes start again, though. bigrazz

Zombies in a postapocaliptical world, repression and rock&love, a great and ambitious setting.
But it's trying to be cool when it's not, trying to be refreshing and failling again, trying to be funny just to be dumb.
All the time making references to his own work as a manwha artist, something common in webtoons wich seems unprofessional and narcissistic to me. I wan't to feel this world as something real! I want to dive in it, but then he get me out with constantly reminding me about his pressence spoiling the magic.

It lacks consistency, if the author just would center more about the feelings of the main character, the romance and improving the progression of the story this could be some great manwha, but yet again he is trying to make it so cool that results in something bizarre and shallow. I guess the author is being ambitious with the manwha, but probably lacking in experience to make something so great, just an assumption.
It's painfully obvious how he don't know where the story goes and is a bit conceited telling that to his readers in the afterword at the end of seasson 1...
Any fiction author creates a world with some rules, and then he goes with the story with those rules in mind, in "Wake up dead man" i think Kim Yong-hwan is just making what he feels in a wim of coolness...

Even with all that said the author has amazing artistic skills and the creative potential to make something good, maybe something less cool but more human.
Of course it's always easier to criticize than create, the drama is good, the revolutionary message hidden "everybody is a walking dead nowadays in this dull society, so Wake Up Deadman!!", that's rock, so even with all my badmouthing, please try reading Wake up deadman.

Can't expect much

The only reason I'm reading this is because I want to know what happens to him in the end.

Like what was said below, there is little progression and the humor is pretty bad, or never really good.
But I guess you can't expect too much out of a web comic.
