There's one particular thing that I REALLY REALLY like about this manga.

JOHNNY'S!!

Hahaha! I love how Aihara-sensei incorporated a real life entertainment agency into this manga. It gives it a feeling of reality, and (if you're familiar with the Japanese entertainment scene) people can actually relate to events/circumstances she's referring to (e.g. Haruka and the Knights' concert). It's something Skip Beat won't have, EVER. (Mostly because Nakamura-sensei's manga tends to lean toward the unnatural/fantasy-ish.) I have to say that this is one of the main reasons why I'm so hooked on this manga.

Points made in the other reviews make a lot of sense. Yes, Yura is a wimp. Yes, the development of romance between her and the three guys is going too fast. But who the heck cares when you're given such riveting situations and really, you just can't help but root for her, whether with a guy or with her job. (Besides, I really want her to kick her mom's ass, showbiz-wise.) With a reverse harem plot (especially in shoujo), there's really no such thing as a cliched story. The development we see in the latest chapters is probably the most natural course of events given the premise.

Anyway, to make the long review short, this manga has a sort of balance that isn't really found in most others. There are chapters that focus a lot on romance, but there are also chapters that focus on her job. Yura may have that Kyouko-ish thing (suddenly being a really good actress/innate ability in acting), but it's good that she isn't strong from the get-go. At this point, it's ok that she's confused about what to do with her life. That is what's called character development.

Now, let's all just hope that Yura doesn't stay the same until chapter 100. ;P

The girl is absolutely pathetic. Her aim is to get revenge or 'win' her mother. I cannot see any of that determination at all. All she does is think about guys. Sure, they're good looking, but what she is doing is jeopardizing her job. I feel sorry for her manager.

I like how Yura is more 'in-tuned' with her feelings where as Kyoko is much too oblivious to realize her own feelings. Or even someone elses, when it comes to love.
Even though the whole love triangle thing is A LOT like Hot Gimmick I do hope she ends up with Hakura and not Q-Ta. Because already Q-Ta makes Yura feel insecure but Hakura is way more straight up. He doesnt seem like he has his own personal agenda like Q-Ta does.
And dont even get me STARTED on the manager. He is too old for Yura. And he is a sell out. Dont trust him. Enough said.

idiot main characters bore me

This started out kind of interesting, but it never really went anywhere. The main character is just this awful, limp, spineless dishrag of a person. She's deeply naive and shockingly dimwitted. Whenever one of the generic, personality-free, Tiger-Beat-looking pop-stars shows any interest in her, she follows him around like a kicked puppy.

Plus, I can already tell that her creepy, much older manager is going to wind up abusing his authority over our empty-headed, desperately horny little cupcake of a main character. He will clearly be molesting her before the series is over.

--But she'll be fine with it, I guess, since she seems to just do whatever anyone says.

I would love to read a manga about the main character's mother instead. She's just as selfish, stupid, and randy as her daughter, but she at least seems to know what to do with what she's got.

i honestly love it. cause it's very shoujo and it's set in my favorite setting, the entertainment business. however! i just HATED chapter 16! b/c she loses something about herself over a boy. . . . . . . ..
i hope the next chapter will be better.
and i bought VIZ honey hunt today to support the mangaka. (hot gimmick was OKAY, but not good enough for me to buy the series XD)

So far I've only read up to ch 16 and honestly, it's annoying. It's the typical shoujo of 3 hot bishies going after the stupid heroine that only thinks "what should I do?".
Someone said in the comments that she acts that way because she's in her teens and has no self-confidence, so of course she would be confused..Let me tell you, I've never ever met a teenager like that. They might do or say stupid things, I agree with that, but there's a limit to how much of an idiot you can be.
As for the story and art..Story is waaay far from being original, while art is ok..not my favorite art though, but still somewhat enjoyable.
All this being said, I still won't drop the manga..I'll wait until the end of volume 4 in hopes that it will get better somehow..I might be editing this post once I get there to give a better opinion on the series.

*sigh* Aerandria = must test out ... >>"
I dropped this series, for a few reasons... first, it was beginning to twist and turn into another version of Hot Gimmick. Second, it was way too speedy with QT and Yura (check later chapters...probably 17-20?) and last, was probably because it was dropped by the group...

Even though I just started reading this series this whole story could of being took en to a whole different direction if wanted. This could of possibly became a mature senien, the girl could of killed her mother, and the guy, stuff like that could of happened.
First time I read a pop culture oriented shoujo series and would have to say it's an ok series

Edit: luckily another group picked up this series

It got really really annoying.

but yeah, it's a really good manga.
And it is really totally different.
Although I love like, popculture mangas as well, like, anything about
getting all rich and famous, it makes me happy. and the ones that
end with pop too. anyways.

Like, it is. Because it's just about like, being a teenager only she
does not have like, any self confidence and there's
like, it's a lot more subtle and deep, y'know? like, she's living in
her mother's shadows and she knows and it her life is totally
getting ruined and she wants to dig out of it.
