Description
Taira Capeta was a 4th grader boy. He had lost his mother when he had been very little. Although he pretended to be tough in front of his father, actually he felt lonely. One day, his father brought junk parts home from his workplace and made a racing kart. Soon, they went to a circuit to drive the kart. However, Capeta found that its frame was bent and it could hardly run straight. But, with his technique he managed the kart. Furthermore, he followed soon after the fast kart and he could nearly leave it behind. The driver in the kart was Minamoto Naomi, the champion of the East Japan Junior Kart. Looking at their chase, Naomiís mother, Minamoto Nanako, advised Capeta to take part in the official race.

This manga won the Kodansha Manga Award for shounen in 2005.

Yep, someone should definitely take this series under their wings... it's just superb, would be shame if no one will scanlate this.

Well, actually, it was decided to skip those volumes because they were adapted in the anime, which means they were already covered. Watch the anime and pick up where it left off. Those volumes will come eventually, I think, but these later ones take priority. The later volumes are part of a joint project and I typeset the series for Deadbeat. We may try to scan all the previous volumes, though.

If I'm trapped on an island and this series isn't with me, then be damned because I'll be swimming.

@Crazy_Horse9876: I appreciate the work that you and the rest of Deadbeat put into this series and the results look phenomenal.

Overall, I'm impressed. The ending was satisfying. It's just the story didn't go on as long as I thought it would. I thought that (MAJOR spoiler)
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
it would end with Capeta at least participating in the F1 races but it just ends after he gets scouted to participate in the European F3 after winning the Macau Grand Prix. I guess the ultimate goal for Capeta was just to win against Minamoto Naomi.

I hope there's a sequel.
