Takahata Shun's day at high school begins just as normal and boring as ever, but it doesn't end that way. After his teacher's head explodes, he and his classmates find themselves forced to play children's games, such as Daruma ga Koronda (a game like Red Light/Green Light), with deadly stakes. With no idea who is behind this mysterious deadly game session, and no way of knowing when it will finally end, the only thing Shun and other students can do is keep trying to win...

I don't know what to say. I liked it but it was too weird and perverted for my tastes. Though at least it makes sense because

the so called god is a doushinji mangaka with some major issues who was given power by a creepy "I'm not an alien"-girl (forgive me if that is not the correct spelling or terminology)

For a survival manga really good. The characters are likeable even though they are weirdo adrenaline junkies. The plot wasn't bad but it wasn't exceptional. I was kind of disappointed with the ending. (it's a cliffhanger) I am looking forward to the sequel.

This story is literally the most intense manga I have ever read. It's engaging and keeps you on your seat, while surprising you about what happened or who got killed. After this, I'm not afraid to be surprised when another character dies - you just assume everyone is going to die until the end. Currently reading the second book, I'm super hyped.

Besides the interesting plot, the artist puts great effort into the details of each character to make sure they are recognizable and unique, even if they get killed off a few panels later. Makes it harder to tell who's going to die or not. Really adds to the suspense.

But there's a big downside to this manga. I'll cover it up though since it's spoiler worthy to some.

That ending. Those last 2 chapters were very disappointing, where the twist he incorporated was poorly executed. It's like the author wanted to just give up and start over again. How he bridges this with Kamisama no Iutoori Ni was shoddy and the quality for this sequel feels lacking as of chapter 9.

Holy shit this is intense! The puzzles and games are really interesting. Also DO NOT get attached to any character no matter what. I don't see any hope for any character at this point. I thought the cat scratch part was funny though.

The games are interesting and you don't really grow that attached to any particular character. The manga deals with a dark subject but the atmosphere isn't dark at all. The manga kind of fails to demonstrate the gravity of the situation onto the reader.

Ah, surprisingly I actually found this quite entertaining. The combination of innocent children's games and gore is good. It's also a bit unpredictable, though I from the start had the feeling that

I was looking for a horror when I stumbled upon this, and at first, I thought it's a bizarre, gore shonen until the second game. I enjoy the story development, the drawing that isn't complicated but interesting enough to draw your attention, and the suspenseful game the most. It's really unpleasant to wait a month or so for the release, but it is satisfying. I hope it will last long enough to be my favorite.

A really good serie. I usually stay away from mangas that have gore factor but this one is so interesting that I couldn't stay away (maybe also because it is the art is quite tame. Deaths are bloody but not exactly gory).

I finished the whole serie in one go and have moved onto reading the sequel. The sequel started pretty slow with many build-up chapters. But I advise you to stick with it because once the action starts, it gets just as good as this one.

I am very curios of the solution to the main mysteries (their fight against god) because so far as this serie go, the god has real super natural power while the main characters, despite being insanely strong and smart, are still human. I am wondering how the students can defeat the god in the end. Have been searching for similar series just to guess a possible answer to this but to no avail sad

Kamisama no Iutoori is one of the few Shonen titles out there that is actually good and stand out among other Shonen titles. But the real surprise is the category itself (and not to mention the blood and gore that comes along with it).

Rather than the standard Shonen cliches or plot, this manga literally kicks off with a WTF moment, and from there, things becomes both bizarre and outright deranged, especially with the puzzles and the solution.

For those out there who wants something different, especially in the Shonen category, this is one title that is worth the read.
