This was pretty entertaining. Love Blog may be a story with many flaws, but it has many interesting aspects as well.

The romance is, albeit dramatic, pretty realistic and blunt, compared to some of those conservative/cliche shoujo/josei romances out there. The female lead isn't pictured as loose or slutty, even if she likes sex - and the blog post narrative adds depth to her character and gives the story a little twist.

Some twists are a bit too much, like

The ex-girlfriend trying to commit suicide and the director deciding to become a soldier, but ends up regretting it.

But the continuous use of humor makes up for it. This might be an average josei, but I was entertained throughout all three volumes.

One odd thing:

Uh, yeah, so if the ex-girlfriend was abandoned in front of a church as an infant, how do they know that she's 3/4 Japanese and 1/4 American? Wouldn't they need to know like... Both the parents' or all four grandparents' origin? Just wondering.

Hate the graphics. Despite being made in 2006 it has the feel of a 1980's book without the good plot.

I hated this series. Trudging away over three days just trying to finish. The 40 page chapters are drawn out and rarely captivating. The heroine is a selfish superficial tart, treating almost everyone like crap. Each chapter seems to try and take on a different aspect of relationships with some sort of moral at the end, but it is usually very shallow and superficial. Even approaching the subject of homosexuality/suicide, I felt wasn't taken very seriously.

It only gets started at the end of the second volume when she stops treating others like crap just because she can. One of the most infuriating heroines in a long time.

Reminds me of Happy Mania without the finesse. It's okay to have a main character flawed to the core, but another thing for them to reach all their goals without changing. It's unsatisfying.

I'm literally slack jawed by the 10/10 comments.

My god, what did I read?
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
From what Ch1? I started hating the female lead. She feels down because she finds out the guy she likes has a girlfriend. She drinks, with the guy she knows likes her. For what a pick me up? Self esteem boosting. She decides to date him, and has sex with him. But wait on the same night, she completely forgets about the guy she just fucked, and screws the guy she liked because he just got dumped, and he was feeling down. Now if she had just broke up with the guy she started dating I could have liked her, but she continues to use him. Dumps him like a hat, for the other guy. Uses her friends, (and ex boyfriend) after he dumps her. Other stupid crap.

TL ; DR
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
I hated the female lead for selfish, immature, and heavily dependent on others. Hated the guy she ends up with for being TOO kind, indecisive, and well dense.

Although I didn't give it a 1. It did have it's moments when I felt sad, or whatever the character was feeling. But overall this was not worth the time.
Do yourself a favor and just pass it.

I really thought this would be stupid but the story really draws you in and these scenarios aren't just realistic but also entertaining. I really liked it. Eriko is very likable and her romantic relationship isn't your typical read either.

Fujiwara Akira has officially become one of my favorite josei mangaka of all time. She really takes the boredom out of most romance manga and make her works unique.
Love Blog might seem a bit more cliche when compared with her other works, but it is very interesting in that the narrative is told in the form of a blog, and as the story progresses, many different aspects of love are explored. This is a manga of philosophical romance, told in a delightful way (if you don't mind the smut, that is).
