Randou Masashi, a self-centered, brash karate star, was the victim of a horrific bus accident that left him comatose, his face terribly disfigured by extensive burns.
Genius plastic surgeon Dr. Manabe saved Randou's life and went to work on his face, gradually reconstructing it based on a photograph found in the wreckage of the bus. But in a cruel twist of fate, the photo that the doctor used as his reference was not a picture of Randou, but of Rina Kurimi, the girl whom Randou has a crush on!

Fun, but a bit repetitive.
Its not bad, and thankfully ends in 6 volumes so it didn't go too long. It does have a few really laugh out loud moments that had me in stitches. Another strong point is that the art does improve over the volumes. But it does get repetitive with the main character beating up a plethora of people and does repeat standard tropes like the really strong delinquent whose really a good guy at heart etc. Its light fun fare meant purely for entertainment, that said if it had a little more variety in the gags (aside from beating up people) it could have been really good and I would have rated it higher.
It had a very, very good buildup. The story isn't exactly logical, but it was fun to read nonetheless. I was hooked and I really enjoyed it until about halfway through. I heard the author had to end the manga early for some reason and so the ending was terribly unsatisfying.

I think it was the worst ending path that the story could take, Randoh having to remain as Rina. It had so much potential for a better ending, even if it were to cut of right there.
I've never liked ecchi but this one is an exception. The story still goes smoothly. That's what makes 'pretty face' different from other ecchi mangas, it has plot and story, tearjerker moments, and love scenes, it's not like those only-showing-panties-mangas or whatever. Not really recommended but for ecchi lovers, this is perfect for you.
Best Ecchi serie I know.
The manga history is good, and the character has a good developement, the problem is o.o the author alwas get axed, always I dont know how him work doesnt sell when In America and Europe is pretty popular and we always wanted for more. The comedy is well planned and the ecchi is a consequence of it, dont feel silly like in other works. The romance is light hearted, and slow but there is. My only disapoint is the rushed ending.
First Manga I Read
This was the first manga i read, and it bought me to the manga world. if i think about it, this really set the standards for me for what a good manga would be : - Funny ( Pretty Face had me literally ROFL'ing at times) - Realistic (Pretty Face was, lets say, stretching the truth with the plot, but it still remained grounded) - had a VARIETY of lovable different characters, with realistic flaws (I.E, in pretty face the backstabbing posse, the perverted doctor [ I LOVE HIM] ) - romantic (Pretty face was not romantic in the sense of bf-gf type, but it was sort of an unrequited love type that made sense in the circumstances, and that enhanced the realism factor) - good art (pretty face had good art, thats all i can say) - good plot line (sometimes, pretty face really had me going)
anyway, as you can see, i am ETERNALLY grateful for this manga, since it was my portal into the manga world, had it SUCKED, i would not have become this much of an Otaku
anyway - REALLY recommended! its a light yet memorable/meanigful read.
the only reason why i havent given this a 10 is :
Spoiler (highlight to view)
that the sister went back, and we never got to know what would happen with Rina + Randoh's (possible) relationship
Lack of Conclusion Ruined It
I know it's categorized as rushed ending/axed, but I imagine the mangaka must've received some notice ahead of time. If he had 2 or 3 chapters notice he could've at least done something
Spoiler (highlight to view)
to give any semblance of resoluation to Randou-Rina romance and at least given Randou the chance to locate his parents and let them know he's alive.
Because of that lack of finality I felt really let down by this series. I enjoyed it for the most part, but the abruptness of the ending means to mean this series is at best a 6/10.
cute, fun, but repetitive
The girls are somewhat unrealistic, behaving too proper even without "guys" around, especially Rina. But very cute and likable. Situations are repetitive, more like one situation repeating itself over and over - "Yuna" under surveillance. But still somewhat different and fun. "Yuna" preserving too much strength for body state, gaining too much popularity for "improper" actions. Like some Merry Sue with a d*ck. But at least it unique in its own way.
Very funny and well-made manga. Think about eating a pudding in the middle of the train. Well made plot, the development between characters is kind of slow but it got to the point later on.
9/10 Very Good!
face of your beloved one
this one is one of my first manga when I started reading and get into this manga addiction long before ago. So the plot was shocked me and left me in despair but through storyline it really gets interesting and take you into romance. It's like your beloved one is one step ahead of you but you cant get ahold of herself or reach her. So in some sense thats makes you feel really good from inside but I don't know is this me or as far as remember, it's ending was left me a bit unsatisfied so aside from ending the whole things about this manga is superb an must read one. I don't really spoil it but when you turn into another being there are a lot of humour meterial that you can come across trough story.
one of the fun reading manga that ive read so far!! the echiness scale its awesome too! lots of pretty girls and the storyline is well developed ch. after ch. .. its worth to read , believe me.. and the user rating is supposed to be above 9.5/10
