Enjoyable read, even with the few bumps along the way.

There's something about Enzou's storytelling that makes me overlook things that I'd find annoying in other stories. Maybe it's because her characters are all adults and her art style is so expressive—seriously, few mangaka can draw anguish so well. Now, Enzou's plots usually come with a healthy helping of melodrama, and this isn't an exception: there's a lot of feelings being hurt, a lot of insecurity, and some exploration of how expectations and assumptions can lead to disappointment.

What I found refreshing, though, is that Tatsuo doesn't get what he wants from the get-go: Hajime is clear about his limits and the relationship progresses (mostly) on his terms. As predictable as the ending is, I did like the journey to it, even if I personally would've toned down Hajime's grand emotional confession, because it comes across as too much of a "he's all fixed now, yay!" moment and a bit inconsistent with what came before it. I also wish Tatsuo were less pushy overall and that Hajime were allowed to have more small steps of getting used to him, outside of the big confession.

The second story—the one that focuses on Hajime's brother, Makoto—has more open communication. I was expecting Makoto to be the typical cold and rude asshole, and was surprised that that was not the case. Even if it has the ol' "I'm letting you go so that I don't get hurt later" trope, it still makes sense considering what we're shown about Makoto's upbringing. These two brothers have issues, but it's nice that they're beginning to sort them out at the end.

But, tbh, I just wanted to see everyone happy at the end, so it worked out fine for me, even with the bumps along the way.

too quick to fall in love

I'm not a fan of stories with shallow characters and quick falling on love, even if the drawing is good. They are grown-up men after all, but behave themselves as little boys.. o_O

...everybody said I was “super dull.”

Said Haga Hajime. And everybody was right. The main story is shallow, slow, and boring. The supposed “friendship” between the two main characters never develops. Much of the interactions take place in poorly framed flash-backs, so it’s sort of hard to tell when any particular event is happening. The longer it goes on the worse it gets. Rather than trying to flesh out the shallow relationship, more pointless characters are added to create melodrama. This level of writing might have been acceptable for this genre in the 90s, but with some of the truly great stuff coming out now it’s a complete waste. At least there’s nothing objectionable, though. Have to give it credit for that.

The side-story somehow manages to fit more development into a few pages than the main story does into an entire volume. It was actually enjoyable. Also, the one-shot at the end of the first volume was amusing. And the art is great. Overall though I wouldn’t read it again.

It was Heartbreaking before we get the Beautiful Wonderful moment. The Characters feelings and love was truly Patient and Unconditional. At least the one who fall in love first has that Unconditional Love and Patience. The Seme(s) in here is truly Wonderful people! (Except the extra one shot that wasn't related at all to the main story)

Wow, no rapey love. Great art. Lots of feelings. No lame drama. Best one I've read in a while smile really cute
I have to disagree with some other reviewers- Kawaisa Amatte Nanika ga Hyakubai was way more cliche and I strongly disagree that it was better. This one was much more mature, and the characters were definitely more fleshed out. My fave person is definitely Tatsuo from the main story - he's amazing.

It's surprisingly good! I just hoped that all those chapters where focused on the first couple, i didn't read the older brother's story. The art is pretty cool, at first i was hesitant to read it because of the title, but like i said it's surprisingly good. The development is not slow and not fast, i was surprised that the uke can cry and laugh lol, but his cold demeanor is cool, ahh i wish they have more sweet moments.

I've been waiting for this manga to be completely scanlated for such a long time... really... because I was totally head over heels for Kawaisa Amatte Nanika ga Hyakubai and honestly I am disappointed. Yup. It's not half good as Kawaisa... I mean the idea is good but the whole story wasn't well developed. Everything's going slowly. Also there wasn't hidden meanings. In the end it's shallow and silly. I had the feeling that something's wrong with this story, not sure what exactly... kind of feeling when you wish for the story to end as soon as possible. Maybe because the main character was boring? I hoped that he'll be cold and indifferent on the outside but interesting/warm/extraordinary/or whatever inside, but I was wrong. Haga is the same cold, gloomy and EXTREMLY boring person on the outside and inside as well. I couldn't bring myself to like this character (it's really rare for me).

well if you don't have anything to do, you can read this manga, the art is really nice and it's not that bad after all, but don't expect too much from this yaoi wink

The first story in this is only vaguely less off-putting than the second. The second had somewhat more psychotic expressions and was just super over the top. Neither story was something I would consider good though. They were both very unnatural feeling.

For most yaoi readers I suppose this manga might be considered all cute and adorable and whatnot, but I seriously couldn't digest it without having a stomachache. I can handle cliches, though not when it's blatantly all over the place like this. The cuteness is also certainly not my type, and Gosh can the dialogues get any more horridly childish. Kinda like a ten-year-old trying to write angst and melodrama and failing miserably. In the end I feel like I've just watched a bad piece of drama. Even the artwork gets on my nerves; I don't remember Kawaisa Amatte Nanika ga Hyakubai's art bothering me this much before, although it didn't please me either. Probably because the mangaka had tried to insert too many 'pained' expressions in here that it cringes me to no end. When it comes to sketchy artworks I'm more of a fan of Shoowa and Yamagata Satomi. I admit the cute moments are there, but this manga's just too dull for me.

The art is lovely, and the characters are sweet; I really like both Tatsuo and Haga. Haga is so cute sometimes, and Tatsuo is just plain likable. I like how the mangaka made their relationship grow from strangers to friends to lovers. It's nice to see their relationship develop and to see Haga start showing his emotions and start learning some social norms and common courtesy, haha. I really like the way the mangaka played out their development- it wasn't too sudden or too slow. Recommended!
