It seems weird reviewing a manga that has barely any information but here goes...

Basically it's about twins in the warring states era in Japan. Twins are kinda a taboo in those times, so the female lead (who is one of the twin) is shunned while her brother is the head of some state in the story. Long story short, he got assassinated and she was requested to replace him cos they look identical.

As a lady, she doesn't have the strength and willpower like her brother, so she requested help in a church and in the end, a demon was summoned by her to aid her. In return, she kind of sold her soul to the devil and whenever she needed major battle help, he would possess her and help her kick butt.

So - there isn't any romance (so far) in this story. but what intrigued me was the struggles of a lone female (who just recently lost her brother) having to take up arms and responsibility of an entire army in such tough and trying times. I really adore her determination and am rooting for her all the way throughout the chapters as she goes on to fulfil the dream her brother failed to achieve - peace among the states by conquering all others.

Pretty art, lots of bishies... The protagonist starts off a little weepy and weak, but she admits it - and she's pretty honest with herself and her decisions (though they are a little rash and sometimes not well-thought out).

The plot kind of took unexpected turns for me. At first I was thinking.. this sounds a lot like Basara (amazing prince-like brother dies, sister replaces him) and/or other gender-bended stories with heroine fighters. But when the contract with the demon came in, I wasn't sure if I was disappointed or just surprised. It's different and I like that manipulation plays a role in her conflict. I'm sad to know that this is only 4 volumes sad

Overall, the girl isn't badass if that's what you're looking for, but driven enough to keep fighting for what she wants. I also like that there is humor in the story mixed in with the hint of darkness. It's not a serious, long-term read, but it's fun.

If you're looking for a girl who is Integra Hellsing-type, i.e. not bothered by blood and gore and is ridiculously badass because she can holdup on her own and has a mind of steel, this is not the one for you. Granted, it's only been four chapters, but I doubt I will see much development within four volumes. I might come back and edit it if Karin does miraculously change into something like that.
No one is particularly interesting...the demon is boring. It's like watching this manic kid who screams blood blood blood half the time. I really hope there is more to him than just that.
And caution for those who has knowledge of the history of this period. I am a firm believer of 'anything can work as long as it's executed well'. This manga is not one of them.
