Amazing artwork and lovable characters

The artwork is amazing, and the characters are beautiful. There's not much character development, but from what little we saw, they were pretty lovable. I wish there was more character and plot development though, and I wish we would have more scenes of them bonding, and the aftermath as well. Still I very much enjoyed the read.

It's a really unpleasant feeling when you look at the comments saying "wasted potential" about the story you really like. Well whatever. It's a wonderful love story about two grown up men, a Sheriff and Native American. The story is complex, there's background, supporting characters, some mystery, action, then turning point, more action and lots of love in between. No matter how you look at it this manga is interesting. Characters are likeable and real-life-like. The idea to place the action on Wild West is nice an refreshing, how many manga about Wild west did you read? I bet that not many. On top of that the art is exquisite, it's slightly different from usual mangaka style, it's a little stylized to resemble an old American comic book more than Japanese manga. Everything here - including pacing and art - was thoughtful. I like this story a lot. I even reread it from time to time. The only "bad" thing here is length. Every time I pick a nice work I feel like it should be longer, so I could entertain myself some more. This manga is no different, I like it and I'd like to read more about Sheriff and Toto.

If you like yaoi with action, chibis and you don't need graphic sex on every single page you should read it.
(the last extra chapter was made of chibi characters, so cute)

@MirayAllen SPOILER
Fran isn't fighting, he's trying to atone for his sins and mistakes from the past by protecting town's people. At a certain moment he decided to sacrifice his life to save them. The moment he smashed his old gang members he became free, cause he atoned for past sins by killing them. It's like along with them he killed his old useless self. In a way he died in that clash, that's why he was able to start a new life, as a new man, with no obligation to fight anymore. His arm became paralysed but luckily he had Toto by his side, so it should be fine for both of them.

The wild west is so little explored in BL manga, which makes this one a refreshing treat! There could've been more plot and character development, I mean the story could easy span several volumes! But in general it's a lovely little volume with a theme you won't forget soon. <3

I feel i luuv this manga uber much! because of the wild west setting which is unique to BL genre. but i agree with Serendipity_ because one volume wasn't enough imho, I wanted to know more about Toto's past as well, and wanted a longer story about Fran & Toto's life together.
but also i think this is not a waste since the mangaka wrote something uber interesting that made people want to read/know more. i hope there would be more, if not i'll just re-read this again XDD
Ps. this will be one of those manga that i will never forget :3

There's barely anything in this story but I like the art so much and honestly I think the mangaka did a good job of making the characters likeable too even with the little development that they got. She came up with good ideas for their settings, it's just that she didn't do anything significant with them which is what makes people feel like the potential is 'wasted'. I still don't really hate it though and there are cute moments I could live with.

Unique setting for BL

I like the old west theme. I don’t think I’v ever read a manga set during this time/place. Toto was super sexy. I also liked the fact that there wasn’t the typical seme/uke thing going on. The ending was kinda abrupt, but the mini comic was cute and made up for it a bit.

I have mixed feelings. Honestly, there is SO little character development or background that there isn't much to say. The art is gorgeous and I enjoyed the way the characters interacted, but it felt like just the very beginning of a story. It was like PWP, but without the porn and also without the plot.

Wasted potential

Here's the thing: This manga is good, so good that I actually remembered most part of the plot after reading it (only happens with a rare few and those are usually the better ones). However, I can't help feeling that this manga represents wasted potential. Why? Because:
1. The author COULD have made the manga longer
2. The author COULD have given more character background, especially about Toto.
3. The author COULD not have rushed the effing ending.

I am not asking too much am I? I am only getting this "upset" (lol) because I see potential.

Either way it's a good read. Not the best though.

-----2018-----
I finally got around to read this and still feel, despite the obvious lack of character development, that the two main characters are dear to me. There must be something to it, as this manga has always been in the back of my mind since the 1st chapter came out. The characters, good and bad alike, could be fleshed out a lot more and still it wouldn't be enough; the rushed ending and barely-existent plot feel like wasted potential, but the art is nice and solid, which kind of makes you intrigued about the artist's remaining work. Fran is a likeable main character. You just want him to win, even though you're not even sure what is it he's fighting against.

-----2013-----
I agree with Larosh, very interesting and intriguing beginning. It's a mild first chapter so you can't really say much: there's not much you can say about the characters yet, no overload of information, no nonsense. It gives you quite enough to be looking forward to, nonetheless. The art definitely has it lovely moments and I find the whole concept rather promising. Scanlation-wise too, it's good and clean (that's Echochi for ya~), so... yeah, let's wait and see what's next ahah.
