Description
[From NetComics:]
In a whirlwind narrative of vanity and conceit, Can't Lose You is the story of two characters who come from opposite worlds but are united by the most unlikely of circumstances: Yooi is a desperate girl working day and night to earn pennies in hopes of one day paying off her father's debts.

Lida comes from privilege and excess, the heiress to an unbelievable fortune and a marriage match she cannot wait to consummate. But when the two girls meet and discover the one thing they have in common is their identical faces their lives take an unexpected turn. As Yooi accepts the irresistible offer of becoming Lida's double, she finds herself in over her head, being chased by assassins and falling head over heels for Lida's fiancé. Meanwhile, Lida is completely unaware of the shocking revelation awaiting her.

Misplaced Main Character by thetindog on September 7th, 2009, 9:01pm

Can't Lose You is a rather light cliché manhwa, one where the ending doesn't matter because it's pretty much predictable. Yooi is the average shoujo heroine that revels in mediocrity, and because of this throughout the course of the books her personality becomes stale. This all wouldn't have been so apparent if it hadn't been for Yooi's counterpart, Lida. Near the end of the series, Lida grows and changes so much, that I honestly thought the story should have been focused around her.

wow.. by countingwounds on July 27th, 2009, 10:47pm

i just.. really wasn't expecting at all how much this moved me. seriously. i started it, and before i knew it i was going through it and couldn't stop until it was done! i was totally immersed in it. maybe i like mangas with twisted characters.. ? heh.

but no, how to say it.. ? i loved how deep it was, with the theme of fate running throughout the plot. can one change fate? can one choose what happens to them, or will it happen no matter what? like oedipus.. (that was brilliant too, i loved that story in mythology~)

and for me, i loved yooi. i didn't find her bland at all. maybe the storyline was completely unrealistic, but i didn't mind, in fact i never once noticed. i didn't notice the cliches either.. i mean, i couldn't spot any blatantly idiotic ones that ruined the whole story. which was unique.

and yes, there is a lot of tragedy.. but i like it. it makes you feel.
Spoiler (highlight to view)
i was really crying where lida was like, "i did say that i'd choose where you'd die" when ilya was hooked up to the machines, even if it hurt her so much, because she didn't want to see him just living on machines

my only complaint would be.. gaon. -gasp- i know. he was a little.. not standing out to me. which was dissapointing, since he was the main male lead. i liked him, and he interested me a lot, don't get me wrong. but i found myself thinking of ilya and nao more. especiallyyyyy ilya. <33 -shrug-

i wished i would have picked this up earlier.. i don't know why i didn't :]

um...yeah, I liked it by Romashk on July 25th, 2009, 4:49pm

Yes!- I said about many things in this manhwa. It's a good shoujo about fate and other realy typical stuff for this genre. Sometimes manhwa authors get carried away and twist the story so much it makes you sick. But it's not like that in this one. And I don't understand, why people are so hell bent on making every manhwa a tragedy or an action... OH, yeah, eating some crappy waste of paper with a totaly serious look on your face is way better, than enjoying a manhwa that doesn't try to render your brain lifeless.
It's nice and relaxing read.

ps. And who thinks that wanting to be a better person for someone you love is cheesy, has never been in love.

It was... a dissapointment by sailorliones on June 26th, 2009, 8:36pm

I don't usually post for mangas which I don't absolutely adore, but I'll make an exception to inform all those who would like to know. The manga of only 6 volumes is not great. The charater development is good, more like so so since everything seems to be rushed. Basically, the reason why the manga is not great is not the length, but the lack of strength. I was not involved in the story since all feelings were weak. There was no strength that allowed me to become deeply involved. As thus, I read it more as a I-wonder-what-will-happen-next. If I thought about it properly, I could have predicted the ending, but I always choose not to do that. It is not a pageturner, nor it is going to make it on my list of amazing mangas. If it reaches the top 200 it will be amazing. Overall recommendation: good manga if bored, don't want to get involved, and only have a few hours at your disposition. It will keep your attention but not distract you from your daily activities (like Naruto and some other mangas).

depressing by raxiah on April 19th, 2009, 5:39am

At first I thought Yooi was an ok girl, but then she turns into another typical shoujo who can't bring herself to "hate" or feel what she should be feeling when being at a certain situation. Anyways, nothing special, didn't see the need for all the crazy love for her O.o the other girl was more realistic I thought.

I picked up this manga on the basis of all the amazing reviews it's been given. Unfortunately I think only fans of Wann will appreciate this series but I fail to comprehend why it has been appreciated at all. I thought the plot was wraught with clichés and stupid desperate twists (she made up a blood type to suit her own needs, it just seemed ridiculous), the characters were boring and weak (Yooi in particular I could not relate to at all) and the love depicted between the characters was dull and unrealistic, nothing like the kind of thing you should feel when reading a forbidden love story. The ending was an anti-climax and I felt half the volumes were a waste of space where all the characters just moped. The art was quite good but nothing to get excited over, and fails to make up for the things this manhwa lacks.

Having read this I intend to avoid Wann's other works, I had enough interest in this series to finish it but I am the kind of person who likes to finish what they started anyway, even if it's awful. And it was.

excellent! by whitemercenary on November 14th, 2008, 6:52pm

Spoiler (highlight to view)
the plot was excellent in this manga, and I definitely think it is the best of Wann's works. While it utilizes the 'prince and the pauper' idea and I didn't really like the cliched thing about them being twins, it was a pretty awesome manhwa overall. I didn't like the role of Gaon very much, though. I liked him being the cold-blooded devil, but he turned too sweet and warm when he was with yooi. My favourite character was Ilya, who was generally well-developed, a little bit clichéd but subtly and well done. One peeve of mine is that the best most interesting character was killed. (This may be a bit biased, cause he was my favourite, however) As for the ending volume, I disliked how Nao Suh and Lida met. I don’t believe that Lida could turn from uber rich girl to someone like that in a small amount of time. The ending was a nice happy one though, which I liked even though it was clichéd, which I can’t say for 100% Perfect Girl…

pretty good by lynn101 on September 20th, 2008, 4:00pm

one of the few manhwas that i actually read all the way through...
i liked the plot and the characters were cool
i didn't really like the ending though
what really got me mad was the reason for the confusion...so unrealistic
but it also proves that what meant to happen is meant to happen and you can't change that fact

i loved it!

Good finish. loved it. by soojung613 on September 8th, 2008, 6:18pm

I absolutely love Wann. Her artwork is so beautiful and entrancing. I especially think she does a superior job with the facial expressions. You can feel the longing, the hurt, the love. As always, Wann has strong female characters. And I loved the ending--because it allowed for redemption and closure. This was a good series that played with your heart strings.
