Description
From Aerandria Scans:

It’s the middle of the Meiji Era and our heroine, the little Suzu, is sold to the red lights district. However, the rich heir of a dry goods store Tsugaru buys her freedom for no apparent reason. She is deeply grateful for being saved, but she doesn’t understand why he paid so much money for her and the only explanation he offers is “we have a bond.” She tries to unravel the mystery of his feelings and gradually grows from a little girl to a young woman, always by his side. A gentle and slow-paced love story set in the Meiji Era.

Cute period story
Rating: 9.0 / 10.0

This is a really cute period series. The costumes, setting, and cultural norms have an authentic feel to them and the situations and stories match the era very well.

There's a laid-back handsome male lead, Tsugaru and a little girl, Suzu (I can't remember if they said how old she is. 8? 10?). Suzu loves Tsugaru--she's strong-willed and self-aware but innocent, so not a loli--and Tsugaru has a lot of affection for her, but he's not a lolicon. He also has no idea she's in love with him. ^^ All in all, very cute and innocent. Not a comedy by any means, but has its fun/funny moments and little jokes.

More background for the story: Tsugaru is supposed to inherit and take care of a shop, but seems like he also works as a "finder" looking for things people have lost. Suzu is very smart and perceptive and helps him out from time to time... also solving mysteries and going off on her own. The summary suggests that Suzu will slowly grow up and they'll fall in love. And sloooowly is about right, as they don't seem to have aged much in a few volumes.

I'd suggest this manga to fans of Adarshan no Hanayome.
