Snow in the Dark

Beautifully drawn, written, and translated. Tragically sad ending though. Completely different from anything I've read by Kano Yasuhiro, or any other mangaka for that matter. Very good.
It's not Olde English though. It's Elizabethan at best. You would have to be daft to not understand it. The only notably differences are "thy/thou" instead of "you", and the occasional "-th" or "-st" at the end of a verb. Like you can't figure out what cometh means.

MP0/Mx0 and She Monkey are funny reads taking a much lighter tone comparatively. Well worth your time. No idea what 桐野佐亜子と仲間た ちis though.

This is an incredible story which shows that the mangaka of Mx0 and Pretty Face has the potential to create very deep and serious stories. That there are mixed ratings for this manga is disappointing. Was the translation really what people disliked? I personally loved the presentation. Maybe people came expecting Mx0 and therefore left disappointed?

As two other commenters said, this is a beautiful story. Moving, really.

The story is a wonderful (and bloody!) remake of Snow White. I like how the translations are in old English; it's much more elegant and gives off a fantasy-like feel.

The art is also really nice. ;D

Snow in the Dark's translation was definitely not old English, though as someone else pointed out it might be close to Elizabethan English (sort-of). It was written more as a prose with barely a nibble of old English words. For someone not used to prose it might seem a bit hard to understand, but once you have the rhythm you will find it quite enjoyable.

I love Poe and Grimm (the real stuff not the remakes) and as such loved this story. (Though this was a far cry from Poe or Grimm, it still hinted at the depth that could be found in either of those two's works.)

Very excellent for a oneshot, could not ask for more from the story either.

The other two that are currently translated are cute, though I wish they had been in another book, for they take away from Snow in the Dark.

A far cry from what Kano-san is normally known for, Snow in the Dark is both great and tragic for a shonen comic.

The plot, though similar to the original Grimm story, is more of a tragic drama, and yet, it is well written and the art is quite good for this one-shot.

If Kano-san could pull off such a great work, then perhaps his next project will be third times the charm and be the next big hit for WSJ.

i love sensei's other works and this is no exception. the first story, MP0, is a base for mx0, his long series which is one of my favourite. it's intersting to read this one shot where he derived his idea for mx0 from. 8

the second story is cute and funny too. there's not many manga that include pedophilia and bestiality without me feeling a bit dirty, and thus prop for this. very cute. 8.3

the third story is the best. this is a very dark story seldom made by sensei, and he execute this very well. prop for the translator for using faux old english thus heightened the gothic atmosphere. never had i so thankful for a great translator working on a great manga. the caracters are interesting and the plot is exciting, a must read. 9.9
