Very bad considering recent Manhua; would be mediocre as a Manga

If this was a manga I'd probably rate it slightly above average, as it's generally above most shounen manga. As a manhua though it's pretty bad and one of the worst I've read. Where as most manhua have a different(and imo more interesting) distinctive set of tropes and cliches they draw upon that sets them apart from their Japanese counterparts, this comic, despite being Chinese, feels Japanese all the way through. This is truly a dissapointment due to the high number and high quality of Chinese Wuxia themed manhua that has emerged from the LN scene in recent years.
This manhua in a nutshell:
A stupid and untalented protaganist?
Check.
Is completely unreliable and is always the weakest around, depending on others to save him or correct his mistakes?
Check.
The main character is immature ala juvenile humour like fart jokes all the time that ruin the otherwise serious nature of the story?
Check.
Is in a love triangle where the (mean, arrogant, and unlikable) girl likes his much cooler(and smarter and stronger, and more likable) best friend and hardly even notices the main character?
Check.
Is constantly the underdog and only wins through sheer luck and deus ex machina?
Double check.

Despite being Chinese this one has the typical boring Japanese shounen tropes all the way through. In particular there are some really obvious influences from Naruto except it's not that good.

If you want to read a great Japanese shounen go read One Piece or Naruto. If you want to read a great Chinese "shounen" go read Battle through the Heavens, Soul Land, or Spirit Blade Mountain.

Ultimately if you're a big fan of Japanese shounen and have already read all the good stuff then sure, give this a shot. Don't bother though if you still have some of the popular shounen manga to read. If you're more a fan of Chinese cultivation stories then turn back now. Like I said earlier, despite being Chinese in origin, it follows the cliches of a Japanese shounen through and through and does so with a great deal of mediocrity.

Solid art, a coherent plot, a well developed storyline and unique(ish) characters.
Probably one of the better manhua I've ever read, in the same league as a decent manga.
