Capturing the essence of: It's surprising who teaches you about yourself...

I was immediately curious about the story of these three men (the groom, Noritake and Tomoda) after such a riveting --and highly embarrassing-- introduction.  But what really got me was how, in only forty or so pages, Nishida-sensei crafted two complex men with deep inner lives that I could connect to and care about.  Noritake and Tomoda both live with hidden sides, sides they cannot express... yet: Tomoda, his "needy" or "soft" emotions; and Noritake, his insecurity about his competence as a father and his own sexuality.

The art is Nishida-sensei special: she creates atypical yaoi art that is neither super bishie nor hard bara.  Her line work is simple, favoring realism over exaggeration except in brief moments of silly light humor, but this by no means leaves it lacking emotion. The depth of meaning on the faces of her men, sometimes with only the barest of line work, is outstanding.

The delivery of this one shot is paced well: it has a variety of panel transitions used emotively. Nishida knows how to use the medium of manga to structure and convey an interesting, meaningful story.

She's one of the few yaoi mangaka who can do both oneshots and series and maintain awesome story structure and compelling art for both lengths.
