For a mystery manga this one did manage to get me hooked, but the approach to the story is too shoujo-esque in the sense that some of its elements felt kinda 'dumbed-down' to make it age- and wit-appropriate for the demographic, not to mention the fact that the author herself admitted she had to cut down the plot and cram the ending into a limited number of pages set by the publisher, which is usually not a good sign. Having said that, her strengths did shine through as always, particularly in creating very entertaining characters with good chemistry, so much so that you wouldn't mind too much about a few weird spots in the manga's progression. For a 2-volume series it was surprisingly meaty and packed with action and plot with no filler that could mess up the pacing, which shows how promising the mangaka is as a storyteller.

I really didn't think this would be any good when I first picked it up- and was taken aback when it pulled me in from the first chapter. The characters are funny and engaging, but still manage to be deep and relatable (not a common feature of most shoujo manga, I can tell you!).

The friendship between Yuuki and Memori is very touching and sincere- and how

they eventually went their separate ways was so bitter-sweet.
But I enjoyed that realistic depiction of how fleeting human relationships really are, and how no friendship lasts forever.
Memori's bond with his adoptive family was also one of the truly heart-warming parts of this story; and I really liked Himiko and Ken- despite their apparent manipulativenss, the fact that they truly care for someone who is not even a blood-relative, was incredibly moving.

The plot was quite good as well, if a little rushed (but that's to be expected considering the length). The mystery actually kept me wondering, and the humour never got old.

A nice manga about friendship and family - this isn't your run-of-the-mill shoujo romance, so try it!

What can I say? The art's lovely, and the characters are pretty interesting. The humor isn't too dull, either! Yay. I've only just read the first volume, but it does seem rather promising so far... let's see how it progresses, shall we?

This manga is very intruiging and it's just hard NOT to like it ^o^ I found myself laughing out loud while my family just stared at me. It's truly a fun read with just a hit of darkness. I can't wait to read the next volumes in order to see how the story unravels!
