Cliffhanger city

Started of pretty ok, whiny useless wimp quickly made me lose interest, but I pressed on for a good 40 chapters or so because of the odd humorous scene. But I can only handle so much before calling it quits. The stupid plot point of having these strict as hell rules for the female martial artists that prevent them from beating the living shit out of a large number of blatantly cocky evil bastards infuriates me. The guy protagonist may be a wimp but for heaven's sake give the kid a break. It feels like every antagonist that beats up his body and screws up his life gets away with the equivalent of a slap on the wrist for what they've done to him or more importantly to his innocent younger sibblings (who I frankly care more about than him) And he has all these female warriors of doom and they can't (or in a number of cases won't) do jack shit because it should be settled "in the ring" and thus we see more scenes of boy protagonist getting his ass handed to him before he lands a lucky hit and WHAM revenge complete. Bad guy gets a bit bruised but otherwise get's no reprecussions for (in one example) POISONING HIS TWO YOUNGER SIBBLINGS. On another rage-inducing note, the author's fanatical love of cliffhangers. Good lord the cliffhangers. I understand this is a weekly series and clifhangers are acceptable once in a while or in the case of more mainstream stuff (Like the loathsome Bleach or Naruto) it's used more frequently. But this series has a cliffhanger almost every chapter and they always end on a douchey act of the bad guy of the arc. There is no sense of justice being done as whenever you think something epic is gonna happen and the badguy(s) are FINALLY going to get what they deserve either a) They whoop the protagonist's ass yet again, b) They pull a jerkass move such as kidnapping relatives and holding them at gun/knife point or c) they get away in one form or another, without learning their lesson, more like "I'm gonna get you later" sorta plot. I know I'm rambling, but man did this series dissapoint AND makes me angry. Don't read it.

Then it became a manga about fighting.

It started really good, but soon it lost it's depth. The main character started crying a lot and feel self-pity, which is deplorable.

If it had progressed on a hard-work and struggle to live sort of way, like it was in the beginning, it could get a 10 out of me. Instead, it became a mango about fighting and evil nemesis that only cares about fighting power and who is the strongest.

Still, that tsundere girl is adorable and makes it worth my while. She is not your usual type of annoying tsundere, like Zero no Tsukaima, but a more subtle one.

Almost didn't read this because of the description; however it turned out to be somewhat different (this is actually a typical wuss boy gains confidence fighting thing; the all girl's school is just the setting) and somewhat as suspected. (the harem ugh) The art is pretty pleasant to look it but storywise it takes too long for the main character to get pass annoying whiny bitch mode and the "main heroine" could be replaced with a cardboard cutout and no one would notice the difference. That being said when wuss boy finally starts his rise the story becomes pretty entertaining and the two side heroines are more than enough to pick up the slack of the main. I just hope a certain secondary gets some more screen time (and maybe a promotion to regular) as she is my favorite character so far.

So far... Chapter 51... I love it.

I HATE mentally or physically weak male or female characters in anything that I'm reading. I think that anyone with a brain or muscle tissue should hone themselves to survive in their surroundings as necessary. Everyone has different situations, but if we want to survive in this game called life... we have to play.
With that said, the first time I read the summary of this manhwa... I was automatically turned off. I thought this would be so tasteless. One man. Many woman. Weak male, Strong women. I thought it was sure to be geared toward a young male audience, and worthless for me to read (not that ALL shounen genre are).
I was wrong.
I'm a very picky reader, and I am blown away, The beginning wasn't very good, but I'm really glad that I stuck it out. By the 17th chapter I was, without a doubt in my mind, going to read it to the end of whatever scanlation was available THAT NIGHT. And by the time that end came, I was like, "WHAT?! WHYYYYY?! Why must it end here?"
Needless to say, I will be catching each chapter as it comes out. End review. smile

The series is atleast worth for a read. It has pretty art with lovable plot and great dose of drama in the start. Ofcourse from the midway, just like any other shonen, it suffers from the generic disease.

What can I say?
-Despite the 'all girls / one guy' school set up, it's not ecchi, and it's not a guy fawning over all the girls he could possibly have.
-You know he's also not going to clichely become the Number One fighter. I don't see any tired cliches in this manwha so far.
-Main character's story is so compelling that it made me tear up at one point.
-Amazing art - eye candy for the boys AND girls!
-I dearly hope that main character doesn't end up with Queen, but with the girl that's super cute and tries the hardest.

This title bothers me in a grammatical way. From what I've gathered, the school is named Wilds High. So in the title "Girls of the Wild's" shouldn't the apostrophe either be on the outside of the S or not there at all? In it's current form, it'd seem like Wilds (a school) possesses the girls, which makes sense until you see that the school name already has an S at the end. Maybe I'm just thinking too deeply into it, but I think that's grammatically incorrect on the mangakas part.
I have no plans on reading yet ANOTHER manga about an all-girls school turning into co-ed with the troublesome harems. Harems alone are retarded as they use many types of girls to be in the harem purely for fanservice and to broaden their demographic. Just not for me.

OMG I definitely love this webtoon. My FAVORITE webtoooon!!! At first I thought the boy was SO pathetic, running away from his problems but I totally see him getting stronger now. So many skilled girls fell in love with him and is willing to train him day and night to see him become a MAN! WOOP! Definitely deserves a 10 <3 and the art work!!

Beautiful and Exciting

The first thing I noticed about this was the art. I love Webtoons stuff, and was previously taken with Annarasumanara and 19-21, which have vaguely similar artistic styles (very vaguely as far as Anna goes), but this outstrips them both. For the most part the females ARE a bit too thin, but the artist does manage some realism there. They look powerful, thin or not. And DAAAYMN does this artist do a physically fit male body right. That point when all the girls whip out their phones to take pictures ... yeah, I was totally with them there.

The characters are strong, though the lead is a bit frustrating. I'm writing at chapter 46, and at least 2/3 of the previous was me waiting for him to stand the heck up. So for the early chapters it's all about the ladies (and the anticipation of the obvious debut of this guy). During that time, it's nice seeing a high school girl seriously telling the boy she's interested in that she wants to walk him home to take care of him. She's not crazy (uh, much), she's not deluded, it's just an equal flip between the traditional shojo exchange in a completely believable manner. I've been reading manga for over a decade waiting for these ladies. Real Bout didn't even pull it off (completely unbelievable physical shapes, for real), so despite the weak male lead (in the beginning), I am completely for this comic.

(But seriously, if nothing else, read it for the art. Fantastic.)

The series is very good. The only downside is how slow-paced it is. The best thing is to read it every once a month or longer so it builds up; otherwise you will be frustrated by the slow pace.
