Good but not great

I like all these stories to some degree (some more than others); they have certain appeals to them and I don't deny they're likeable. But to say I was mesmerised would be an overstatement, for I always have this lingering thirst for something just a bit more at the end of each stories. Then again, they're mostly one-shots (and a two-shot), so I suppose they've already played their rightful parts according to the norm anyway.

Sweet With A Little Substance

Very cute set of stories! I recommend this one for those who like quick, light stories with non-explicit intimate scenes, but lots of warm fuzzies.
I especially liked the art of the park tunnel in the 2-chapter story and the melancholy sweetness of the older man in the last story.

Alright, separate stories, each get a few lines. But since the art is the same, I'm just going to say that Homerun Ken is amazing, from design to detail and you should really read at least one thing by her if you are into this genre.

Also, the titles of the stories in thr descriptions on this database, don't match the ones in the manga itself. Dunno why.

1.Ah, a really cute story about childhood friends. I really like how she draws school uniforms, the sweater vest one in particular. Page 22 was really, really, pretty, but sort of sad. I guess it's odd to find a favourite page in something, but Tomo's thought process just really struck me I guess.

2-3. Same story, two chapters. This one was amusing. I like how the bigger, tougher looking guy is a total softie and is the one who frets over things. I felt bad for the cousin though, maybe he'll get a good end someday.

4. This one really was mainly focused on the competetion, but it didn't forget to develop it's characters either, a nice pace over all. I did think that Murakami had sort of a silly hairdo.

5. Ah, I like reading about slightly older men. I mean school boys are nice and all, but life continues after high school. The magic in this was a nice touch, and it was just a cute story in general.

If you are looking for a series of cute 1-2 chapter stories that are shounen-ai, I'd highly recommend Maigo.

I really love Homerun Ken's style. You can really tell her work at a glance. This is a nice collection of oneshots. Diamonds are Forever and Flower Scented are my favorites.

This was so lovely! Really, really beautiful work and stories that catch your interest immediately. The only complaint I have is that the stories were too short! We need more Homerun Ken!

I love Homerun Ken's artwork. ^_^ There's never any struggle trying to tell the characters apart, and everything is so cleanly drawn and pretty! The short stories were really cute, and I didn't get bored reading them. And did Taichi make a sneak appearance in the fourth chapter? ^_~
