Description

I love this manga and everything about it!
The only thing I can say really is... why is there not more of it!?
This manga was enjoyable right from the start and through to the end, there was nothing boring or filler or side story in it that would bother me.
I adore the art and that really messy drawing and story-telling style very much fits the manga.
The characters are amazing, I love them all to bits and I'd love to see more of Akiyama's friends as well (especially Sano, lol)... I love how Shiba is a big crybaby who lacks self confidence but when it comes to sex he's an animal! And how Akiyama is the cool guy who never messes up and is popular with everybody but then he's also a sex-hungry uke! Oh man, that's just candy for every yaoi fan!
I really loved how a lot of it is about sex... and they just jump right into it, too. It feels really typical for male teens and it's just so much fun to listen to them talk about it and think about it in this crude and straight forward way!

I can see how someone who prefers there to be a real shojo-like romantic love story that slowly builds up or a typical big, manly seme - pretty or cute uke setting might not like this manga BUT everyone else, please do yourself a favor and read this because it's a real little gem full of smutty goodness!

I'm one of those people who judges manga by the art work, first impressions mean the most afterall. However, in this case, don't let the simplistic artwork keep you from reading on. The plot line may seem plain, but you'll definitely develop a liking for the characters. I also love how realistic and down to Earth the mangaka created this. It's the type of story line that could happen in real life. Fantasy is great, but sometimes a story like this is refreshing. Looking forward to reading more of this manga.

Let me say this, SHIBA WAS NOT UNBEARABLY ANNOYING. You've not seen annoying..

Well, I sort of know what this artist was going for. Usually the semes are cool, and the ukes are like shiba. Switching the roles makes it very interesting, I'm tired of the usual so this was a breath of fresh air. If you like cool, calm, and collected ukes like the taller guy you see in the picture, you will not be too disappointed.
For some reason the Akiyama-kun (uke) reminds me of Sasuke, and Shiba (seme) reminds me of Naruto due to his spiky hair.. hehe that is how I imagine Sasuke as an uke. ^^

Sure the main character's relationships are forced in this manga but its not the first time in any yaoi manga that we've ever seen it happen. Asides from that point "Akiyama-kun" has potential. The first thing that got my attention was the character akiyama, i mean should i even bother mentioning his gorgeous luscious hair? honestly *-* His character also has a great development in the storyline and its nice to see how different he is than other ukes. Now i have to admit, with most of the comments on here, that Shiba is a wimp but it's not like its so unbearable that we can no longer read the story. Anyways the art is alright with minor flaws..
so grab this treat if you're up for a quick, hot, smutty, yaoi manga.~

This is sort of different so I'll give it that. The characters and their relationship seem more than a bit forced. Akiyama is a lovely creature, but I find Shiba kind of gross. His awkwardness is difficult to watch and makes me feel uncomfortable. He doesn't know when to back off and he gets carried away, ignoring other people's feelings(this is putting it lightly). For these reasons I can't at all call this cute or sweet, which would be fine if it didn't also feel so contrived or if it were at least funny. For some reason I can't get myself to shelve it though. I always want to read the next chapter.

The way I see this story kind of conforms with the title "Akiyama-kun". I mean the fact that Akiyama is this scary (but beautiful) delinquent, yet secretly he's an uke who likes some totally wimpy loser, and on top of that he's so honest about it, is just fascinating and cute X'D . Actually the seme character reminds me of a lot of wimpy protagonists of shounen and hentai manga, who SOMEHOW still get the hot girl (wtf?), except in this manga he gets the GUY who's totally out of his league... even more wtf? But I like it!!

This is hooooooot! Was not expecting that type of event to unravel, but when it it did, I liked it. *~* And honestly, the fact that they even mentioned a condom put me over the moon. I'm really looking forward to the rest and its sequel. I have my eye on you Nobara Aiko.

Sometimes when reading the comments I wonder whenever I read the same story. I suppose it's fine because everyone is different and all. But I just wanted to note that this is NOT a story about two boys meeting each other and getting it on, if you are looking for that type of story there are plenty elsewhere. This is a story about a certain event and how this event affected the ones participating and witnessing it. In terms of yaoi, where 9 out of 10 stories are about boy meeting boy and how they fall in love, this is fucking brilliant and a breeze of fresh air.

There was too much snot, WAY too much crying.

I don't know what it is about a lot of Japanese manga writers, but they do this thing where one partner (usually whoever's on the bottom, either man or woman) hates sex or fears sex and says no or stop or wait, and the other partner doesn't listen either because they "can't help themselves" or because it's assumed the bottom partner doesn't really mean it.

You can NOT ignore your partner's verbal cues for the physical ones (unless this was discussed beforehand in a safe manner). I don't care about the heat of the moment or anything else. And the couple didn't use a condom (very dangerous, and also super common in manga for some reason).

The writing and art wasn't good enough to balance out what I didn't like about the story. Like the really annoying small guy.

Cute idea (with the tough delinquent guy who'd rather be fucked than fuck), but really badly executed.
