Say YEAH for the guard story

The Guard story is totally cute, but some of the rest are...disturbing hahahaha It's totally cool for me, because I can of like disturbing stories once in a while, but it was so unexpected from this series. It has a good dose of incest in two of the stories, but nothing to traumatizing. Still, hurray for the Guard Story, loved that one, for that one I'll raise the rate and because the others were weird but likable mostly.

At least I was able to finish this

-The first three chapters are done in a way where I couldn't finish the other works of this author.
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
That desperate clingy weak woman type just annoys me to no end. Which I find that I can deal with this type in stories, but the way the author does it seems worse than others.

- Blanc. I don't like endings where you're not 100% sure what happened.
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
When I saw the incest tag I didn't think cousins. So that was a let down.

- Kizuato. I liked this one, but I wished it was longer. *probably the only thing that brought the rating up.
- Izayoi. This came off as a cheap spin off of
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
Kizuato with a incest twist.

I believe because this was a collection of oneshots I was able to finish, but if the first three or four stories were longer I don't think I would have been able to.
I would only recommend the 5th chapter.

first two stories were generally sweet but a little on the shoujo ridiculous side, lol. i also agree that yoshihara's chibi's are really not attractive at all ;( oh well. third story was really cute and disney sweet and i love the theme of a stay at home dad 8D *cackles*

i totally DID NOT expect yoshihara-sensei to make dark sexual stories, though. normally i don't really enjoy her stories since they're highly idealized and unrealistic smut with weird characterizations but these stories opened my eyes. they were SPOT ON. poignant and unexpectedly super HOT (in a creepy way, lol), having all the more tragic power in their short length and semi open endings. make more stories like this yoshihara yuki! please!

Aw my gosh how sweet!!!

Loved the stories to bits! They're so sweet, the men are dead sexy!
The first 3 stories are all cute and sweet and pink fluffy kittens, and they have such perfect lovable men that most women can only dream of!
The 3 last stories are a bit darker and on the gloomy side.
Some of the stories have little twists about them and that makes them pretty interesting.

The only things I would complain about are for one, the fact that all these would be so much better if they were longer and not only oneshots (but you can't use that as a negative point either) and I really do not like the way she draws SD/chibi. Her comical SDs are just plain ugly!

I'd recommend this to anyone looking for a solid oneshot collection that has big feelings, sweet stories, sexy men and some decent (but not graphic at all) smut.
If you only look for positive and lighthearted stories then you might wanna skip chapters 4,5 and 6.
If you are against incest then skip chapters 4 and 6.

I liked chapters 1-3 more than the ones after that. The characters were really sweet. Loved the drawings and the guys are so delicious~♥ One thing for sure though, after the third chapter things kinda went downhill and dark. I highly recommend the first few chapters for fujoshi's, cause the guys aren't afraid of being bottoms~ >biggrin

I like the drawings. Yes, these stories don't have much to them, but they are not that bad.

The first three were good and easy to understand, even funny at times.

#4 had a weird ending...who did the girl marry? lol :S in Japan cousins can marry each other...if they ARE in Japan...lol

#5 (spolier??) Her husband was the servant...maybe she had amnesia...?? or something...for whatever reason she thought hubby was dead. sad kinda sad really

#6 This one I can't even figure out :S lol so weird...lol

Definitely need to read the last three again to get them

Okay, the first three stories is really sweet, really cute with happy endings and all...but then starting from the 4th chapter...things starts to get creepy. What with a cousin loving a cousin, then a woman with mental illness who thought her husband is dead when he's alive, and the last story. That story is the one that I do not get at all! I'm still clueless to what's actually happening. Honestly saying, I hate this type of story. It's about split personalities. I'm still confused about their relationship. Who exactly is Akito, more like which one is Akito?! They did say Akito is the Tsukiko then all of a sudden the nurses said "Akito-sensei is her little brother"?! Sensei?! what?! I thought sensei is the doctor who's treating Tsukiko. What the heck?! Well, it's given...since it's a oneshot. Some mangaka can create really good split personality stories, but this is probably something that doesn't cut out for Yoshihara sensei. Man, she should know what she can draw and what she can't!

i really love the first story.. it was the best one shot that i ever read.. i like when she has cancer, it made me feel relief.. i hate if the guy got all the attention.. plus it always the girl acting all crazy up with the guy, but now that the girl has cancer, i think it was acceptable of what she did to her boss... just talking about it, make me wanna read it again..

I thought it was pretty interesting how the whole book started in one genre of happy shoujo fluff and by the story Blanc it got into the dark relm, and the stories following almost turned supernatural as they studdied the parts of madness, obsessive love, and incest. This really was a manga that was like no otherI have read. As it crossed so many genres halway through that I had to check if I was still reading the same manga. Very interesting. I reccomend it to people who like nicely written shojo fluff, but can also take on the darkside.

An interesting read, if a bit anticlimactic ultimately. I like what it explores- the limits of friendship and how painful and destructive a transition into romance can be. It tells the story of two female friends exploring life in their young twenties with a sparce, poetic narrative style and pretty art that I appreciated. If you're looking for slice-of-life that tends more towards the serious and the tragic, this is a good choice. It focuses heavily on relationships and sex.
Spoiler (highlight to view)
I am bothered, though, by the negative way in which the lesbian or bi-sexual character (Minako) is represented. She loves her friend in a frighteningly obsessive way, so much that she sleeps with all of her boyfriends- which strikes me as a very selfish kind of love. In the end, she ends up dating her friend's ex-boyfriend, and what seems to unify them is that they are both still obsessed with Saki. It's very unhealthy and doesn't really reflect what it's like to be gay- just what it's like to be obsessively in love. I was hoping that there would be some kind of redemption for Minako at the end- that Saki would reciprocate her feelings or that she would move on. But when the volume ended, she seemed just as stuck in her rut as ever.
