Description
Kyo Aizawa's father is a basketball devotee but has been forced to quit playing his precious sport because of an injury. Instead of himself working his way up to the NBA, he feels that Kyo, his daughter should fulfill his dream. To give Kyo a good start in her career of basketball he enrolls her in Seishu High School which is known for two things: its extremely cute girls' uniforms and their boys' basketball team. Not only does unhappy Kyo have to pretend to be a boy during the day (the basketball team members all live at the school to boost the team spirit), she has to do it day and night. The super-star of the team, Chiharu Eniwa, may be a good-looking, basketball champion, but his attitude towards Kyo is hostile from their very first meeting. Poor Kyo ends up roommates with the evil Chiharu. As they get to know one another, both sense that the other has a secret.

Ahh, that was a hilarious manga. It's one of the really good gender benders, in which nothing gets exposed the cliche way, and everything's funny, and the female lead is actually good enough at her chosen sport to hold par in the men's team (why does this never happen?).

My main and only beef with it is that the ending was just... kinda rotten. It was all set up for a feel-good, happy ending atmosphere finish, with everyone accepting Aizawa and all, and then... what was with the principal thing? And what was with that one-page dad thing? I'd forgotten he existed. It was a complete WTF moment.

Other than that, this manga was great. It had hilarious punchlines, at times I was rocking from laughter, and it had good characters that made me root for them, even if they were a little dumb at times. I recommend it, but maybe you might want to rewrite the ending in your head.

My number one comedy.

Though while I read it I kept thinking "moar romance!! you slow idiots!", afterwards the impression I was left with was that, what the hell, I've never laughed with a manga asmuch as I laughed with Power. Seriously. I still laugh out loud when I remember certain scenes. Ahahaha... oh man. The plot wasn't even that good, such a hackneyed gender bender! but who cares!

You might find this rating outrageously overestimated, and I admit in some way I was affected by my surroundings at the time of reading it, which now make me remember it fondly. But aren't we all? from one's overall situation, to the moment's mood, to the friends you shared it with and the music you were listening to. Isn't that the best part, and the best way?

this is one of the BEST gender-bender/romance/comedy mangas! this and Hana kimi are the best ones. its TOO GOOD. the art is AMAZING. i have some of the volumes but not complete cuz i didnt have enough money to buy the whole collection. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! and you wont regret reading all 10 volumes =D

Uh...first of all, Power is amusing, but I have no desire to reread it. The ending is horrible, so stupid. Hana Kimi isn't my favorite series, but I think it's definitely better than Power. Everyone says that Hana Kimi fans would like this series, but I think that each series suffers from the constant comparison; the plotline has a lot in common, but liking one series absolutely doesn't guarantee you'll like the other. Sorry, maybe I'm just vindictive today because I've had a bad week...maybe I'm just being stupid. sigh...

i read this four years ago and i still think it is the only manga that could really make me laugh. it is so freakin' FUNNY. At school during silent reading time..when i read a funny part i tried to hold it in, and then when i turned the next page, i tried to keep quiet.. yet, as i read on i really really wanted to laugh my lungs out, scream, slap the table etc. but no..instead i sit there looking constipated. So if you read this at school don't read it during silent reading! otherwise you'll just have to put the book down smile

For anybody looking for a comedy, this manga is an excellent choice. The humor is witty and intense. It's one of the few things that could really make me really laugh. The comedy isn't the only thing this manga has going for it though, the characters are all vibrant and full of personality - the characterization is top notch. The characters are always falling into different amusing situations and you could never get bored. The romance is also very sweet. It's heartwarming and realistic when it needs to be.

It's disappointing to see Hana Kimi fans looking in to this and thinking that because that it's different, it can't be good though. But seriously, Shizuru Seino is a genius. Even if you are having doubts, you should still give it a go and maybe you'd change your mind and be glad that you did.

Honestly the story is very simple but i gave it and 8 cause it succeeded in being the light and laugh out loud gender blender manga. I also think that the main girl (Kyou) is super cool considering that she is a tomboy and can kick other guys ass.

Well if this is your thing GO GO GO!!!

Hehhehe, this manga is really funny. I haven't read very much ( only on chapter 6) but its still really funny. XD


I stopped reading it because it got boring, and rather lovely-dovey and repetitive..
