April 10th. Yesterday was the last day of spring vacation, so starting this morning it was a school day. After being woken up by his cute little sister, Itsuka Shidou believed that it would be the start of another normal day. As for predicting the chance meeting with the girl who called herself a spirit......

Along with a sudden shockwave, the townscape vanished without a trace. In a corner of the street which had now become a crater, the girl was there.

"?You, have you come to kill me too?"

She is the disaster that will destroy humanity, a monster of unknown origin, and a being rejected by the world. There are only two ways to stop this girl: annihilation, and conversation. His little sister Kotori, wrapped in a military uniform, thus said to Shidou: "Since it's like this, just go date her, and make the spirit fall for you!" "Wh.. whaaaaaaaat!?" Enter a new age of boy meets girl!!

This series started out entertaining enough, like a vanilla ice cream cone it'n not great, but it gets the job done. But then you realize, "Why the hell am I eating this when a choc fudge sundae is right in front of me?" and to add insult to injury you discover the ice-cream was actually well past expiration and that is Date A Live. Same personalities as the thousands of other harem "comedy" characters made by generic Japanese authors, you got the dumb big titted heroine, the tsundere pigtailed sister, the loli, the douchey arrogant and loathable villains and of course the dumbass, ignorant, I-trust-anyone-and-everyone butt-monkey that is the "protagonist" who believes the world's many problems can be solved with "friendship POWA!!!!" alone.

Man do I loathe this series.

The first volume was probably the best I have read in the novel so far (I'm up to volume 4). The story progress at a nice speed, but some of the parts are predictable. I do like the characters, but sometimes, I wish male leads are not dull lol. I love all the female characters, especially Kotori. All together I think people should give it a try.

Long summary short:
Main Character: Male (average)
Spirit: best describe as being (non-human but look human) from a different dimension or plane, majority of them female.
AST: Government special force that suppress Spirit with firepower until they go back their own plane
Main Character job (by chance): get the Spirit to fall in love with him
Main Character’s support: His sister and lot of adult with weird personality on ship like spacecraft
Problem: doing his job in secret without being find out or getting kill in the process.
