What naikan said was wrong, this manga wasn't sexist in the least. It was more like the girl understood that she couldn't continue pretending to be a male (it would have been extremely hard) and she was lamenting on that fact. If you read the end you'll see that she stayed in the military. Ahh, it was kinda sad though...Ten whole years...

The premise of this manga is a joke and a very sexist one at that. The author essentially portrays women as weak, needing to be protected, and can't do anything without a man's help. According to this manga, a woman's only strength and use is to be of use to a man.

For elaboration and spoilers:
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
Very early on, we find out one of them is a girl. She joined the army to fight and protect others, but after meeting the leading male, she wakes up and realizes that it's impossible for women to be soldiers and that the only reason she even lasted in the army (a man's world!) is because leading male had been supporting her (she actually says this in the manga). Therefore, she falls in love (the only reason a woman has to be a soldier!) and decides to revolve her whole world around him. Why was there a war? Don't know, author didn't care. What happened in the war? Don't know, author didn't care. You get some context "there is a war" and then it becomes some silly, emotional, tear-filled lovefest where the damsel in distress is saved by the big hero.

Seriously, is this supposed to be some sort of anti-feminist propaganda?
