It's so heartwearming. It's nice to see a manga where the self-proclaimed "uglies" aren't actually bishounen/bishoujo in disguise.
I wish for more girls to come after Takeo.

Takeo has good points.
I can't wait for the next release.
It would be another remarkable work from Kawahara Kazune-sensei.

I've actually been waiting for this to be scanlated for a while, it definitely was worth it!
It doesn't take itself too seriously and most of the characters are "cookie-cutter" (the big goofy guy, the cool guy and the ditzy, cutsie girl) but the way they interact isn't a cliche at all. I also love the friendship between the two main males, it's something that a girl couldn't break apart.

I just want to say that I really enjoyed this manga.
Usually, I don't like mangas like this, because it's so badly done.
But this i better than most mangas, and its not stretched out to long or crammed into one chapter.
It's the perfect length, told wonderfully, and conveyed alot of feelings.
Read it, very reccomended!

I love that the main character isn't the pretty boy that all the girls like. The picture seemed really weird to me because I thought the big guy was a teacher or something at first, so I'm glad I read it. I thought it was another typical shoujo manga again.
The only thing I'm worried about is if volume 2 is going to be a different story than the first volume because it seems like it's finish. I hope that I can see more of Takeo and Suna.

This manga is a collaboration between two of my favorite mangaka (the creators of Koukou Debut and Yasuko to Kenji) so I knew it'd be full of win, and it IS. It's one of those rare manga where the main character is beautiful on the inside, not so much of a looker on the outside, and REMAINS that way. I've read one too many shoujo where a girl/ guy is considered "ugly" until they take off their glasses and WHA-BAM! they're gorgeous.
The story is addictive. The art is great. Every chapter had me laughing out loud (and I'm quite picky when it comes to humor). Aruko's always been good at creating funny expressions and characters who don't all look the same. It's hard NOT to like Takeo, our protagonist, because he's so funny without really trying to be. I recommend this to anyone who's looking for a good laugh and a heart warming story.

I've read only 3 chapters but I really like this one! I looked at the front cover and I was like "...could this be?" And yes, I was right! This is... a really RARE shoujo manga everyone should read! Even if characters are kind of "seen" (musclebrains, good-guy-popular friend and super cute girl) I still can't help but love this because mangakas are doing the pairings right!

I was tired of the usual recycled garbage manga, so I decided to give this a try - I mean, look at the front cover! A shoujo manga featuring an uber-masculine, less-than-ideal-looking guy as the narrator/protagonist? It was my first time encountering such a thing in shoujo, so I had no idea what to expect.
Well, based on the first chapter, I have to say the series looks VERY promising! The protagonist is so sweet-natured and funny and lovable that I fell in love with him after reading the first few pages. By the end of the chapter I was totally on Team Takeo and rooting hard for the dork. He has an interesting dynamic with his friend/polar opposite and this series seems to be as much about friendship as it is about romance.
The art is very clean and simple and Kidu's Scanlations did a wonderful job conveying the work in English. Give Ore Monogatari! a chance. You'll be glad you did.
