Description
From Hoshi Kuzuu:

For someone who has no recollection of their childhood, Yuzuru's been having the same dream over and over again. One where he and another boy are playing in a small shrine. But he can never figure out who the other boy is. Then one day, his brother Ryosuke brings home a classmate of his, named Takumi. Within the memories that Yuzura can not remember, he realizes that Takumi was his childhood friend and first love. Takumi reveals that he is ecstatic that Yuzuru remembers. This had a lot of potential... but, strangely a whole chunk of information is missing.
It seems like an entire volume/handful of chapters were taken out during the process (or the mangaka forgot to write it). Yet, strangely I understood what was happening even though everything was so loosely tied together.

The ending wasn't entirely satisfying, but it made sense.
If you read it carefully, it explains a lot of things to a certain degree...

This is damn confusing. There were gaps. The story and illustration were insufficient in executing this manga. Or, maybe an insufficient in translation? Well, I do not know. There are a lot of questions. I see that it is not only me who found this manga so confusing.

Their genetic condition is somewhat similar to the werewolf......in the manga it seems that annually? Or monthly?(just refer to the manga hahahasmile the people say not to go to the temple on a certain time of the month or year) they will be forced to transform to turn in to an oni/demon state that makes them crave for flesh including humans(its not precisely human flesh since their father ate a dog)......

and that yuzuru has inherited this and as a child he remembers rituals being performed on him to try cure the inevitable.........cause upon reaching adulthood he will crave for flesh........so after regaining his memories he immediately try to kill himself.........

but on why they transform? It was not explained....even the details i wrote above are vaguely portrayed.........but in the end they became spirits....so they are dead indeed

not so much of a tragedy since they are together but not much of a happy ending since they are dead
Even the feelings you'll feel after reading will be vague ahaha smile

I don't really get the story. It's kinda frustrating 'cause I really did try to understand it, since I like the art and all.

Until the end, I kept thinking whether or not they are human or something else; Especially when it comes to their father and Yuzuru. Why does he have to eat human in the first place, and why does it seems like Yuzuru are probably going to be like his father? I am utterly confused.

I wish the author would explain these things further, but oh well.

I don't really get the story. Why Ayato had to sacrifice himself? And why their Dad became mad like that? Why is everyone seemed to be attracted to Yuzuru? Where is Takumi when Ayato and Yuzuru visited their Dad? Where is their mom? Did she get eaten to by her husband?
Hell, their Dad was a man-eater? This story is kind of freak and confusing!

This manga made absolutely no sense. I really tried to reach for a deeper symbolic meaning or something--maybe the black and white clothing of the two at the end represents yin and yang? Like eternal balance where one can only exist with the other? But in order to make this guess, THE REST OF THE STORY WOULD HAVE TO MAKE SOME KIND OF SENSE. Like, WAS this manga supernatural? I have no idea. So now I'm frustrated. If anyone has any ideas as to what the heck this manga is about, please let me know...

It's expected that Kojima-san would write such "mysterious" endings. This is no exception. It's ok. The story was lacking explanation on certain things but it doesn't take much to get the picture. A quick read too.
