This is a neat crime mystery with a timeskip component. The first part in particular (until and including when the culprit is revealed, i.e. c1-32) is excellent.

The story overall remains good, though not amazing. In particular, it's somewhat marred by a) the action part of the ending feeling rather weak to me, and b) the timeskip ability never receiving an explanation or justification.

thrilling, exciting and emotional

Normally when I see thrillers, i tend to think they just loop around the story with no character development or strong plot progression such as Monster, but boku dake ga inai machi used the theme of friendship in not so melodramatic style but to combine the thrilling elements of the series with strong contrast of that element to give a powerful sense of hope and emotion.

A must recommend series that only last 8 volumes and has beautiful and good amount of character development that succeeds not only due to the character backstory but the character interaction with well written dialogue that doesn't feel awkward. Very worthy of its praise

Pretty good!

I'd have to say it was quite good, not amazingly good but just good.

PROS
- likable main character
- the characters were not bad.
- the story plot was interesting

CONS
- kind of predictable.
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
Almost everyone could tell it was the teacher I mean it was just too obvious! Either they showed him too much which made us suspect him or maybe he was just too nice to the main character.

- got a bit boring towards the end

It was pretty good but if you love mystery genre, you might not enjoy this because it's kind of predictable....

Suspenseful but at times painful to read

This is so amazingly close to the reality of how real people behave in tough situations that I can't get over it. The emotional realism makes the suspense expertly set up by the story all the more believable and intense. From what I've read so far (through chapter 9), I think maybe its emotions will be what will make this manga great. I think many tears and fears are coming down the line, so much so that I almost am afraid to read more. Stories can actually do that to people when they're this good!

Perhaps the best manga yet made

Mystery, drama, humor, heart. A beautiful and complex tale that can only be written by an author of intelligence who believes in his work, with masterful illustration and direction that really shows off the power of manga as a visual medium. From start to finish, the reader can feel that the story was planned and refined. The plot's construction and presentation make it eminently re-readable, and the second pass shows how much work was put into the details of foreshadowing. There are a thousand things to gush about, but to list just a few aspects of what the author managed to pull off...

Writing about a writer without a drop of fan-service or self-pity.
Time travel that services characters and story, and not the other way around.
Children that are written as children, and not micro-adults.
Mature, earned, filial love.

How many of the innumerable hacks who get anime adaptations would fall flat on their faces trying to pull off even one of these in a serious manga? How much time and effort goes into derivative garbage manga when works like this exist?

Anyway, pure, optimistic brilliance. 10/10

A very, very good story, a shame its English scanlation was on the uneven side.......but hey, it was completed and it's only noticeably confusing to read the English in certain parts, so yeah, very good.

I started reading this because I really love sensei's Mouryou no Yurikago and Hoozuki no Shima series.
Unlike the previous two I mentioned here which both of the series started with suspense situations on the first chapter, I thought the plot for this one kinda slow and boring.

But after I read the next chapter, and the next chapter, and the next chapter, I know I'm wrong.

I don't know about others, but after the recent chapters (i'm on chapter 7) whenever I relate the series meaning ' The Town Where Only I Am Missing' with the page where little Fujinuma holding a trowel and a bucket surrounded by the tall grass in chapter 1, I kinda get an eerie feeling.
No, I guess I got mix feelings; eerie, warm, suspense throughout reading this series.

It's good to know Fujinuma really loves his mom. And I think he's really cute when he's a child.

sorry for bad english in advance. not my native language.
yesterday finished reading this manga. what can i say. i liked this manga and story line very much. Then I downloaded anime adaptation of this manga. Donít liked cuz it was very succinity in the end.
2 partially I want ask you question: portagonist may be seems stupid to you. But how can you go and do some research when you 11 years old kid? When I was in his age I have curefew (and you donít?) I agree with you that he have knowledge and brain of adult, but he also have limitations of his current state in the past. Those limitations is simple he just primary school pupil. He canít do anything about others victims (remember there was 30 cases in the end). What he chose to do is to save his classmates. If you want to read about more mature/smart portagonist in child body from time travel try reading ďOre ga Doutei o Sutetara Shinu Ken ni TsuiteĒ.

Addicting.

Predictable a bit.

Suspension of disbelief is high among all other mangas. The main character is truly a real design... He blurts out his thoughts in slips. He starts as a fake character and grows into almost a hero. It reminds me of Steins;gate in that way.

Also... "Scorcher"...who rates a manga as a 5 out of 10 and says "they don't make manga like this anymore"? Are you an idiot?
