From Del Rey: Yamato is ready for a fresh start. So when his aunt invites him to stay rent-free in her big-city boarding house in hustling, bustling Tokyo, Yamato jumps at the chance. There's just one teensy-weensy catch: It's an all-girl housing complex and spa! Things get even more nerve-racking when Yamato meets his neighbor Suzuka, a beautiful track-and-field star. She's not just the cutest girl Yamato's ever met, she's also the coolest, the smartest, and the most intimidating. Can an ordinary guy like Yamato ever hope to win over a girl like Suzuka?

18 volumes of people being idiotic
Wanna read manga with protagonist so illogically inept you constantly wonder how he manages to breath each day?
Wanna read manga revolving around a romance between people who a genuinely terrible to each other?
Wanna read a manga about people making irrational decisions that can only be explained as the person making them must have some kind of mental disorder?
Wanna read a manga that insults your intelligence at every turn and assumes you have no concept of how humans behave?
Wanna watch two people destroy each other lives over some ridiculously and easily avoidable selfish decision?
Then this is the manga for you!
You know, all I have to say is...
What a ****ing b****. The main heroine is just LEGENDARY when it comes to personality. Good God.
And whats even more amazing is that the main lead still goes after her. Time and time again without pause....even after rejection. The man has balls of steel.
To the people who say hes spineless. No he isn't. He actually portrays a lot of realistic qualities that you'd probably see in real life.
I'd know since I've been rejected once before from a girl and its not a happy feeling, lemme tell ya.
At the very least, he's definitely not as spineless as the main characters you'd see in Love Hina or Tenchi for example. He actually tries his very best at things and is very good-hearted. And yet, he gets punished for it. Why?
I have no idea actually.
I'd have to also agree with a previous comment on here that said this played out like an old TV soap opera. It's pretty much exactly like that. Once you think a relationship is going smoothly, BOOM, it goes down the toilet.
I would've been okay with this if it happened once or twice. But I'm not exaggerating when I say that its happened on many occasions. Like....every single volume maybe.
There is one particular occasion that I still do not understand at all. He gets rejected from the main heroine. Then he proceeds to have a relationship with a girl that's had a crush on him ever since they were kids.
It goes fine, as per usual. Then he gets her a birthday present and obviously, the girl shows no gratitude whatsoever. Regardless of *how* he got it, he tried to give her happiness and is still punished for it. Why?
Because of her own damn selfish reasons. Because she *assumed* that the main lead still had feelings for the main heroine even though he outright said he didn't.
And....you could probably deduct on how their relationship went from there.
Suzuka is a manga that makes you want to just throw something at the computer screen just because it pisses you off that much.
If the female characters in this manga are any sort of standard that women in the real world try to adhere to, then I'd have to say, its going to be a dark and lonely place for us men...

Title says it all. My all-time favorite. Most intense storyline ever. The romance is just so freaking good, and I'm a guy! In my opinion, I liked Suzuka a lot better than Ichigo 100%. I would love to see more Suzuka but too bad it's over.. I'd just love to see a sequel that shows the rest of their loves together because they're the kind of manga couple that you just want to know what'll happen for the rest of their lives. I wanna see Fuka grow up too! Damn, I'm obsessing over Suzuka.. why did it have to be so good. Truly an amazing manga experience. I'd recommend this to anyone who likes romance. I feel so Suzuka-deprived now that I finished this and its one-shots..
I'm a huge fan of romance/sports mangas so I'm not completely being bias in saying that this one disappointed me. Although the story/plot is good, I liked how there were a lot of issues being touched that concerns teenagers and relationships and also how the main male character's personality was not the "heroic" type at all, I did not like the female lead--not one bit. She was fine at start. The cool beauty and all that but her personality kind of got to me. She was indecisive, a tease, and she pursued after the guy when he got himself a girlfriend. She's wishy-washy and most of her images from volume 1 up to volume 15 are pouting or angry faces. She gets mad so suddenly and keeps putting down the male lead, even if she was shy that's just going overboard (although I think I'm being too personal on this since I know a few girls just like her... god their attitudes suck).
This is already been my 2nd time reading this manga and I thought my opinion would change after going through countless shoujos and romance ones--no go. However I have to say it still got me hooked the 2nd time around. There were several occasions where I wanted to shoot myself and Suzuka for being an idiot and a tease and also for being such a snob when she had no right/place or that the situation was completely wrong for it.
Done rereading. The story does improve after the first 8 volumes. The ending is rushed but atleast it wasn't too abrupt like most long romance/shoujo manga. It made me teary-eyed but no more. I like how the characters were developed at the end although I didn't wish Suzuka's jumping career to end that way. All in all it's good.

male lead does something wrong or theres a misunderstanding or something dumb happens female lead gets mad male lead grovels and apologises relationship+1 repeat
the manga does not stray from this process even once. you keep on reading, praying for the time when the guy will just smack the bitch, but it never happens. Suzuka is ALWAYS right, even when shes not right, you better pretend that she is. its a constant one way chase scene with the male lead wearing a dog costume and her whipping him into submission. the female lead will never show affection or apologise first, EVER.
its too bad, the plot is pretty good, and the romance development nice, but the main female lead will ruin it for you, completely. if there was at least a couple of times where she showed sincerity or understanding or at least developed some then this manga would have been great. however this is not so.
recommended if your a masochist and you enjoy smashing your face against the wall
Absolutely loved it
I really cant say to much about this manga or ill spoil it.
i first wasnt going to read it cause on this site it said it was only translated to V6 but thats not actually the case i found it fully scandelated.
This is a fantastic read from start to finish, the art work is beautiful, the story is touching and not unrealistic and i felt completely satisfied with the ending. I look forward to reading other works from this artist.
its 18 chapters and it didnt feel to long, it was just the right length, this is one of my favorite reads of all time, Read it! you wont regret it.

the truth of suzuka
to tell the truth suzuka is a great manga. one of the best i've read so far.the only problem is the ending. its regrettable cause i agree with one of the other remarks that they should have continued their careers and have a time skip and then they get married. coming down to the end its a shock!i finished reading it yesterday and i kept thinking about it all night and today :how it should have ended different, why like that , damn i feel i wasted all my time. but really i enjoyed the whole up to the news of her pregnancy. it could have even ended with the abortion but that would have changed and complicated eveything. really from the news of the pregnancy i started to dislike the manga. i really think they should have ended it differently. but hey! like somone said nothings perfect .OVERALL SUZUKA IS REALLY EXCELLENT. i'd give it 99 out of 10 although thats not possible!(the minus one is because of the ending) trust me this manga is a worthwhile top of the line kind and all the emotions really get to you.man if it were real!!(again ...not the ending though) alright i've stressed on that enough!READ SUZUKA YOURE IN FOR A HELL OF AN ENJOYABLE RIDE!
If only it went on longer..
Suzuka, in my opinion was a great manga. Overall. There were the real ups and downs of reality that the manga included, and it was realistic, it was not an happy ending from the start. Although some people are complaining about how there were unexpected ups and downs in a relationship, it happens, it happens. The romance and story development was great (along with supporting cast, like Hattori, Arima, Honoka, and the other chick from track), and I'm so, so glad that I picked up Suzuka and began to read the shounen. After the first time I read the manga, I was addicted, I think the parts out over and over again. The only complaint I have about Suzuka is the rather rushed ending. I understand she gets pregnant, but it's so regretful, I think the ending would have been alot better if they went on with their careers and had the marriage after a longer time skip, since the time skip was bound to happen. Two promising athletes lost their careers, and none of them ever reached their goals! However, no manga is ever perfect, so it's a definite 10! I reccomend this manga to anyone, and I know it will take me a while to find a manga even close to what Suzuka can give (if any like it exists at all!)
best series in recent times
saying this is a great series is probably an understatement.
this is a wicked series, one of the best i've seen recently. the characters are realistic and well-portrayed, the story moves along at a good pace.the romance isn't over-the-top, and the sporting action is very good. one can sympathise with and relate to the emotions, feelings and reactions of the main character due to its very accurate portrayal of school scenarios. all in all a close-to-perfect shonen manga.
i don't know why people have said this is like love hina - when watching the anime anyway, the feeling is totally different. i have read the love hina manga and watched the anime quite a few times and i did not even get the idea of a relation until i saw it mentioned here. in technical terms the scenario is the somewhat similar, but when watching the anime anyway it doesn't feel at all even close.
and finally, i don't know why everyone is calling the main character yamoto 'stupid', 'a retard' and 'a loser'. i completely disagree - in fact, this was one of the first series (in anime anyway) that i was thinking the main character is not the stereotypical loser of romance mangas - he is good-looking, athletic and pretty popular. its very refreshing to have a character liek this for a change - the almost exact opposite of the loser that the comments here describe.
this series is definately worth the 10/10 i give it. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Best Romance/Slice of life manga EVER!
This manga does a great job in emotionally connecting with the readers
for some reason this manga gave me "The Wonder Years" Vibes, the tripes and turbulence of your first love and the sacrifice of one's goal in order to achieve certain more important things in life....
