Description
The Demon Neuro has a raging hunger for 'mysteries.' Being dissatisfied with his current regime in hell, he’s come into the mortal realm in order to satiate his ever-growing appetite. The murder case of a young girl’s father seems to be sufficiently enticing for the Demon’s needs.. But what else might happen between these two? Find out in this disturbingly good murder-mystery series.

I just gotta say the character creation: name, skills, abilities, design of this manga is by far one of the strongest i have read so far... It's amazing how the mangaka elaborates preety deep characters and awesome word games.
Slight decline, but still decent

My rating lowered because the entire Sicks arc has devolved the series into a Battle Manga at the moment. Also, there is usually very little evidence shown before Neuro's unveilings, though the manga-ka was getting better at that. Neuro and Yako's relationship is hilarious, as well as Neuro's psychotically huge ego. Better than most manga in Jump at the moment though.

Don't confuse this for a "Conan" copy, it is not.Though at times the faces are creepy and disturbing, it's part of the story. It's hard to not love the story and relate to it, since enemies and even side characters often appear later on in other chapters. It's hard to not laugh at Neuro trough his different personalities disorders. Just like "Merlerna "advised to read chapter 138...Also try to read "168" for it too has really funny parts XD. And just when you think that the mange is getting serious, the author will throw some funny parts too.
Neuro is the best!!!

Truly, one of the coolest manga around. Sure, the mysteries could be better but hell, with Neuro as the detective or "assistant" it adds a very interesting appeal. The artworks at the beginning of the series aren't that pretty but later on it'll get better.
If you guys wanna see how cool (and psychotic) Neuro is, I suggest reading Chapter 138: The Sadist. Neuro is someone you wouldn't want to mess with. ^^

over all i thought the plot had an interesting idea and the mysteries could be pretty cool but the art is soooo bad at times it makes it hard for me to continue reading it. like, the art is pretty good for some of the creepy scenes where neuro goes to his demon form, but for the manga style comedy pics, the art looks like an amateur drew it....
Im gonna push through though in hopes of the art improving, or that i can get hooked by the plot enough to continue reading without anymore hitches.

I'm not sure about most other people, but I found this manga to be very good. Yes, I started out with the anime as well, and I found it hilarious, though the first few episodes are kind of boring.
The manga kicked in, and once I started to read about Kaitou "X" and HAL, it was completely amazing. It's like suspense added in with out-of-this-world weirdness.
Amazing.

The first time I read Neuro was almost two years ago, and I was already blown away by the manga. Recently, I'm very thankful to Anonymous for translating chapters so fast everyday because it doesn't create any gaps between story lines, and the point of each story flows freshly in my mind. But other than that, it's because I really love the series .
IMO, I think the art is very unique and stylish. Even though sometimes it may look weird, it adds to the overall effect of the story.
As for the story itself, I find each chapter to be meaningful. After each little arc, I find myself thinking a lot about what the author points out about human life. Also, Yako doesn't seem to be as useless as most people see her. She's like a mediator between the readers and the criminal characters; she's the one who asks why they commit the crime. At first it was not as noticeable but, with each new arc, she's providing more and more insight for readers. Then again, that's just my opinion. Maybe I am reading too much into the manga, but I still deeply enjoy it.
I highly recommend this series, if you can overlook the art and enjoy a little thinking, or if you just want to see Neuro torture Yako lol.

Majin Tantei Nougami Neuro is definitely a manga worth reading. Creative, funny, original, it's one of those that you really can't put down. The serious and main situations (meaning not the short ones in the beginning) in the manga are well developed and complex, making it exciting enough for any reader to want to know what happens next. I also watched the manga, and while I do prefer the manga in the way that the events occur the anime is also quite entertaining.
Even though some of the art are considered disturbing by some readers, I think it adds well to the impact of the story, and it's a series that I definitely recommend people read

I just got to share my cup here.
What first got me into the manga was actually the anime, which I thought was pretty awesome from the few episodes I had seen. Then I picked up the manga, and wow..The art is amazing, and by art I mean everything. Sure some people are bugged of by the characters..but what I see in art is the whole package. The perspective usage, the crazy demon tools, all the monsters design, just brilliant in my wannabe artist eyes. Then comes the story..I'm just a sucker for DemonXcute girl combos, even more if their relationship is kinda sm All the tantei work is really just beside the point, but I enjoy it anyway. Neuro rocks, and you should definitely pick this up ^_^
