Annoying

The main couple are the most annoying pair of idiots I've ever had the misfortune to read about in shoujo. Incredibly unlikable is what they are. Also I feel like this manga still counts as shoujo unlike some of the other commenters. The themes are darker than the typical shoujo, but the main couple act with just as little common sense (maybe even less).

This was an awful read, none of the characters were likable and they all made decisions that I can't relate with. Love interests suck too. None of them made sense, I don't even understand why they're with the person they are with. One of the lamest reads ever. I kept reading on with the hope that it'll get better since some people rated this a 10, but nope it DIDN'T. WASTE OF MY TIME!

well. I'm not sure if this is josei enough for my taste. I prefer its category to be shoujo rather than josei. Because honestly the 2 main characters aren't mature at all. They have a misunderstanding and break-up every 2 chapters. WTH. TBH, I don't even feel like they're dating and I don't feel a lot of emotions in each chapter as well. It's just like reading a 17 years old love story with main characters a bit older. That's all though. They don't trust each other enough to be able to called this "josei". I'm serious. Anyways, it's still a good read. Much better than other shoujo with girl cries every panel.

The characters are immature college-aged students that still haven't figured out how to act properly in relationships, but you know what? Somehow, that isn't annoying - probably because their immaturity and their stupid mistakes are portrayed realistically, and send me back to the days when I still thought it was okay to immediately sleep with someone as soon as I started going out with them, instead of waiting to fall in love with them properly, first. Oh, well... Regret, being a kind of hindsight, is 20/20.

I agree with the previous commenter that this really is JOSEI, not shoujo. I don't think I've ever seen a shoujo manga handle ALL of these themes at the same time - e.g. domestic violence, cheating, communication problems in established relationships between adults, the difference between love and companionship, etc.

Really an awesome manga that takes you into the nitty-gritty of what makes relationships work (or fail). If you're interested in reading about realistic modern dating, this is the manga for you!

Definitely Josei...

This is definitely more josei than shoujo... There's no cute, fluffy, shoujo cliches in every chapter. Initially I thought Masaru was really complex, but he's actually quite simple ;x Makoto's love for makeup reminds me of myself and some of my close friends. She's really pretty though - I love how the author draws her.

The art isn't very busy - it's actually quite simple, but something about it is really comforting. It's definitely a slice-of-life romance, and I like that there aren't too many characters. Character development without being bombarded with new characters makes the story more enjoyable, in my opinion. This is definitely one of my favorite in the josei genre.
