The reason I like...

..Nicky Lee's work is generally there isnt any grossly bad character- everyone is a bit grey or white- and her primary focus is always to have a good laugh- There is sometimes a surprising maturity of acceptance which would have been taken too much into context in a Japanese Manga or made very awkwardly absurd in a Korean Manwha...There is the cliched pretty boy worship phenomenon but best part, all of them have goof offs and the girls arent stupid though yes, quite violent and melodramatic but hey, thats what makes a shoujo. Howevever, her Souryo Fuyumi reminiscent beautiful men and thankfully, not utterly baby-faced women is one of the many perks of this manwha - besides the fact something is always going on and women and men dont shy off taking the plunge in their Iloveyous- so that time stalling tactic isnt there-besides for some obvious ones-this is an enjoyable, roller coaster type fun manwha, worth a read for lifting spirits smile

I think just like everyone i just stumbled upon this one but wow GREAT! Here is a manga that will make you laugh until your stomach hurt from the very beginning and every chapter....really did not expect it because of the music plot but the way the characters and relationships are developed is so well done that i could not help but keep reading two days straight.

It's so cute

This manhua was surprisingly lovable, and I loved all the pairings--so no complaints there! Due to my Chinese heritage, I was able to get some of the more obscure jokes that were meant only for local audience. But even aside from those, this manhua was funny in an adorable way!

The romance is also refreshing in how lewd it sometimes gets ha ha ha. There's a lot less of that cliche flowery shoujo awkwardness prevalent in so many others of the same genre, thank goodness. Instead, the relationships are more mature and the characters have more trust in one another, especially Luokai x Vivien.

The ending and the extra chapters were also really satisfying! I love how the couples were all in different stages of love (i.e. marriage, living together, puppy love/undecided, etc). Although this got a tad melodramatic and confusing at one point (not for long), the feeling I got when I finished the series was so satisfying that I still think this is a masterpiece.

The series may seem long, but don't fret! Just make sure not to read everything in one day--you'll get a headache that way! This manhua is pretty addictive, so beware. (well, at least I was pretty addicted to this...)

And on another note, for those who are not comfortable with gay men's display of love and etc, you might need to be more accepting in this manhua, since some of the side characters have homosexual tendencies. I personally thought it was amusing, but if you don't like that sort of stuff just pretend its boyxgirl. (There really isn't much gay love showing, except a few panels in some chapters)

Also, the art might seem weird to some people, but I found it beautiful. The girls in this manhua weren't just girls with eyes the size of frying pans, and the guys were pretty varied too. (they do look a bit feminine though..although this is expected in a shoujo manhua)

The story was also nice, and we get to see how they rise to fame through honing their skills. The techniques aren't discussed in detail, but the group dynamic between everyone makes up for that.

So overall, this is a great manhua I recommend you all to try!!!! biggrin

The art in the beginning was sort of weird but then I got used to it that it became pretty to me.
the story was good..shows different perspectives of the lives of each character!
Nicky Lee is such a good Manhuaka? (lol) i've becomea fan of her after reading this..

Is it just me but Wang Xiang sometimes looks like Julian Casablancas of the Strokes!! Plus, both of them have a relationship with their band's managers smile

I finally finished reading this series! This is one of the rare mangas that let me read all the way with excitement. ^^ The comedy is great~ The main focus isn't on the romance, but rather on pursuing dreams. As a reader, you really hope that they achieve their dreams! The manga let me realize the hard work behind being a musician. The one thing I appreciate from this author is the lack of clichés! You never know what to expect after. Also, the main girl is strong! Overall, it's nicely paced. Recommended!

Youth Gone Wild

I stumbled acros Youth Gone Wild on lunadust.com, and ever since then have been hooked. At first it was the art alone which held me captive (as DGT had not yet started scanlation releases). The art is not your mainstream shoujo style, its quite interesting and of course the guys are bish. I did not think I could get anymore addicted and then the scanslations began being released. If you have not read them yet- go now! Do not even bother reading the rest of the review! It is the funniest, cleverest, wackiest mangas I have ever read. Of course, there are also some darker, more serious aspects to the story, such as ZhiGao's past. But this is counteracted by ShangGuan Fei's hilarious antics of narcissism. We also get romanced, this is still at heart a shoujo manga, and mixed in are the lyrics of Guns 'N Roses, Skid Row and the like. Lots of 80's influence on the hair and dress of the characters. All around good read, highly recommended - and visit my site if you want more info.

This manga is awesome! I love it so much. It's very romantic. I love the secondary couples just as much as the primary one. This manga has it all, humour, drama, romance, excitement. I couldn't put it down.
