Description
From Shoujo Manga Maniac:
Butterfly is a young geisha in training. She loves and admires her childhood friend, Chinatsu-san. He’s a tattoo artist, and he paints butterflies on her arms and is kind to her. One day she visits Chinatsu and finds a naked woman there. Butterfly is devastated at the thought of her friend with another girl all along. Soon after, a rich foreigner offers to buy Butterfly and take her to live luxuriously in a faraway land with him. She’ll miss life at home, but maybe it will help her forget Chinatsu. But does she really want to?

Normally, I rarely pick up any historical series. I sometimes got the feeling that those series were making fun of history which I really love. Others made me feel that mangaka put historical element just to draw beautiful outfit. Even though, there are some great historical series. This one is one of them. It's not perfect for me because I can predict most part (like other typical shoujo). But the post-marriage part is really unpredictable (except the ending), and it's surprisingly good. I really love the historical element in this manga. WW II is my farvourite event in history.

for me this is little masterpiece, i have read my share of manga, and this catch me from the beginning, the art, the story, everything is amazing... And man, this made me cry so much i tough my heart was not going to be able to take...

I cannot begin to express the emotions that came out of me when reading this. Although it is a very short series, I swear those 9 chapters will impact you even more than a 100 volume manga.

Have to admit I REALLY wasn't fond of this manga when I began to read but somehow I managed to finish and I gotta say it's not too bad itself. For some reasons it also made me cry, and that was kinda surprising because I didn't expect it to move me that way...

All in all, the series's not something really new and exciting to me but I wouldn't say I regret reading it.

I put off the manga for a long time now because it didn't seem to appeal to me the story line and all. But since I love the author I read this despite me not really wanting to read this because I didn't want it to be some complicated love story. It was a very enjoyable manga, very light and easy going.

This is one of my Favs now (heehee) I loved the story and the art.The characters are so damn cute i could hug 'em. It really is one unique manga. In vol.2, the feelings were played around so much i felt like crying. But in the end, all's well. YAY! Recommended~~Nyaha. The one-shot was extremely saddening but i liked it alot. The omake was funny it made me smile :>

I really, really, really love this series. The story may be a bit predictable, but the way it's told is really quite extraordinary. I could empathize with the characters and every scene is wonderfully drawn. This is one of the only manga that I have ever gotten teary-eyed at, and I almost never cry.

Just finished this story and it's wonderful! The bonus stories at the end are also very funny. Only thing is, I feel sad for Butterfly thinking that her husband died and also having the scars on her back.

OMG its not funny when they play around with our feelings in that last chapter! I was so heart broken and wanted to cry... but then all came well towards the end!! ahh what a relief!! :)

This anime I have to say was one of my favorites it was a very sweet romance and brought me to tears! I never got bored! I loved the ending and it didnt leave you hanging, I HATE it when mangas leave you hanging so I highly recommend this one!!!<3<3<3
