Description
Komomo is a spoiled princess who enjoys bossing her servants around. She has taken a particular liking to Natsu, the son of her family's favourite patissier; so the poor boy has to endure every one of her whims until his family moves away to France.
Years later, Komomo's family has lost their social standing, and the inexperienced girl is left in the care of strangers. Around the same time, Natsu returns to Japan as an acclaimed patissier. How will their paths cross after their lives and positions have changed so much?

The story here is nothing special: in it's five volumes we see a lot of old familiar tropes. Minami's art is the real strength of this work: personally I read it through to the end because baking is a hobby of mine and the way she draws and explains the sweets is just mouth watering! I'd love to recreate some of them. I also love Komomo's unique character design. Her thick eyebrows and more voluptuous figure set her apart from other manga heroines - I am all for diverse body types in manga - not everyone is short and rail thin, even in Japan!
At first I was apprehensive when deciding whether to read this manga or not; I was worried the female lead was going to annoying and bratty. And she was, but only for the first chapter. After that her character development was great, yet she still kept her childlike innocence. Also there is a good bit of comedy and I found myself loling at times. Manga like this keeps me liking shoujo.
Like Nessz said, Komomo is a total spoil brat. Each chapters gets better and better because Komomo learns new things around her and...how should I say it, learning to become humble? And she's learning to say her "thank yous" and if want to eat she had to work for it.
I just love how naive/dense Komomo can be sometimes, resulting in hilarious moments. I always look forward to those. Although Komomo can be naive, her strength shines out. It's been a long time since I felt this refreshed from reading a manga. For now, I read up to chapter 20, hopefully my score won't change in the future because it's really really good so far.

Am I the only one thinking of Yumeiro Patissiere as I read this?
Komomo's character gets better development very soon after early chapters, bear with it. Minami-sensei is just showing how spoiled, bratty and naive Komomo was. Being cooped up in a luxury lifestyle like that, her attitude is reasonable and in further chapters Komomo makes up for it. Not that I'm spoiling.
Hoping that the drama aspect of this manga won't take up much later.
Anyway, read it.
