I wanted to cry. These are the type of yaoi mangas that would break me into pieces, yet I'm willing to be engrossed by it more. Why? What the hell was the problem? Akio's personality was pessimistic, and it's almost obviously like Kou can't put up with it. I wish there was a sequel. I wish there was something to save my confused self.

It really is beautiful in an ugly way

I hate this with love. And I love it filled with hatred.
I'm not satisfied with this ending but I still feel like it's just so simply beautiful. But then again... East Asians have mastered the skill of being brilliantly cryptical in a way that you can't help but love.

I thought the manga was good in the beginning, but the ending was just not good enough for me.

I usually
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
want the main characters to end up together
, but when they don't that's fine too. As long as the author can tie the story together so it actually makes sense. I agree with peppermintmoose and I feel like she should have ended it "better" because the story is supposed to be deep, leave us wondering about what's going to happen later on in the manga, not wondering wth just happened ^_^
The manga ended right in the middle when things started to get good.

Incomprehensible...

I'm not saying this isn't good. The art is pretty nice, and it's a wonderful change from the usual, over-dramatic type of stories you get, particularly in the BL genre. Still, there was a very strong feeling all along of 'what the hell are they DOING?' Not that they're acting outrageously, it's just really hard to understand what's going on in their heads. (The side story is even less comprehensible... my only comment is 'wth?')

The 'strange attraction' bit reminded me very strongly of Let Dai, but personally I preferred Let Dai - at least there the consequences of the attraction were thoroughly explored, even if the cause isn't.

While this manga was a nice change from the stereotypical yaoi manga, it really seemed pointless to me. The art was pretty, but I never felt like I got to know the characters. I really felt like the manga skimmed the surface of the story--like it was trying to be deep, but didn't quite get there. Perhaps the manga would have been better if it had been longer, so we could get a chance to know the characters better.

..but that ending...

It was deep, and meaningful, and so beautiful - right until the end, when everything just fell apart. Can someone please explain wtf happened ?
Takaguchi sensei is always brilliant, but sometimes I feel she's really experimenting with story forms - either that or the ending was just too subtle for me. Kreutz comes to mind.

EDIT: The above was my first impression. On second reading, the ending made much more sense if I thought of it as "slice-of-life" realism instead of the more usual BL drama style ending.

There's an originality to this manga that I really enjoyed. The characters don't seem cliche or sterotypical, their actions seemed real and their love deep. The artwork has a kind of subtlty to it that I also liked. Takaguchi's characters, were not your so called "bishies" but there was something beautiful about them because of it.

Many seem to be disatisfied with the ending, and though I can relate, and in ways, wish I could change it, I admire the mangaka for going that way.

The oneshot was also very well done. As a similiar atmosphere as the previous story but with a different kind of confession and equally, if not, more depressive. Definately more depressive.

If you're looking for something more mature and deep to read, this is definately a story I recommend.

I found this manga to be very beautifully created. The art was nice and detailed, but I was mostly impressed by the storyline. If you wish to compare it to the generic school life yaoi title, you'll be very disappointed. But if you really want a story that has some very interesting characters, with real flaws and insecurities ... this is a story that I'd recommend you take a look at.

Beautiful as always, and definitely compelling - but I don't know ...a little opaque? It's worth reading for the chemistry though, as when it works it *crackles*.
