2 days...2 intensive days... and 12 volumes later.. i've finished it... FINALLY! i can't say i didn't foresee the ending, or that it was a horrible one either...cause it was just .. right for the story... But what i do can say, is that this one it's by FAR the longest manga that i've EVER read!, and that i don't regret have spend time reading it... It's complex.. yeah... Repetitive... yeah... extreeeemly long.. yeah! Would i read it again?.......without even thinking about it ... If u have the time u would realize all that this story has to offer, and the multiples atempts to understand how the heart or even the mind of humans works... cause this is just a story about humans trying to understand humans... is as simple and profound as that...
Let me say this, I truly and honestly really loved this series. With that being said, there were parts of the manga I could have done without. I thought that the addition of some of the human characters in the Present were unnecessary. Of course I realize they were probably added because the main characters and some of the supporting had their limits. But it was incredibly boring to read those parts, but obviously I managed.
It was a shame that more of the past was not explained. It just felt that there were holes missing to the overall story and the plot was not planned out very well. Though, there were gut wrenching parts that made me love this series.
I've noticed the progression of artwork from Please Save My Earth to Global Garden to Boku wo Tsutsumu Tsuki no Hikari (PSME 2). The artwork is fantastic in PSME, but for some reason the artwork in GG and PSME 2 cannot compare. Maybe she just had some great assistants to help her along the way. Anyways, I put off this series for so long because I'm not into manga that's about teenagers anymore. And I seriously regret not reading this years earlier.
Honestly, I didn't intend to read this. I was just interested in the reincarnation thing. But it got me hooked before the first two chapters ended, something that never happened with kanata kara (which is dragging on too long for me making me read this series), or any other 'before-90's-scifi-manga'. I can't wait to finish it and see how the whole thing unravels. I think 12 volumes is too short but oh well. ^_^ Edit" I just finished it and I must admit it was one fo the best ever. seriously. like the past played a big role, it was revealed one by one yet it made sense, Shion was such a pitiful character. Mokuren was a great character who affected all of them. Ahh simply great
Don't let the artwork turn you off. I was wondering if it was really good when I heard people sung praises about this manga. So I decided to try it out and it was GOOD!! The beginning art was very old art (as you can see), but it improved by the time it reached the middle and the storyline doesn't help 'cause it made me fell in love with the manga even more.
The story is about your typical a 13-year-old student, Alice, who lives nearby a 7-year old young neighbor Rin. Rin always tease Alice whenever he sees her she hates it. At school, she stumbled upon the two boys, which she had a misunderstanding of the relationship and fled. Later on, she met them again when she was at the zoo with Rin, whom she was asked to babysit for the day. As the two guys cleared up the misunderstanding, it turns out that they both have the same dreams. They even say that they have a deja-vu with Alice. Back at home, Rin angrily said he also have a deja-vu with Alice and asked if she was going to marry one of the boys. Testing to see if Rin was jealous, she said yes and in response, Rin dropped what they bought earlier at the zoo from the balcony. She then slaps him, which lead to him to tip over and fell off the balcony. From there, the story starts to unfold upon Rin's mysterious power and the mystery of 7 people's past; their connections and relationships; the dark truth; and the ending twists that shocks all of them.
The overwhelming emotions I had when reading this manga was powerful enough to make me semi-cry. The character development is strong and slowly we learn about the 7 reincarnated's past and the truth of what really happen. The story helps take it further with its twists as it uncovers the truths.
I really enjoyed this series and I glad I picked it up. It should be a classic that everyone should try reading and see how touching this manga series could be.
This is one of the best mangas I've ever read (and I've read a lot and there are specific reasons for that: firstly - it's organized, no chaos, no meaningless chapters and epizodes secondly - characters - they are originall and not boring, they act instead of dwelling on and on thirdly - concept, plot doesn't have weak points forthly - length - it's perfect, it's not too long and not too short, and everything is explained fifthly - when you start you have to end it, when you leave it in the middle its pointless to even begin
It leaves a warm felling, you feel full and satisfied, what it tells, how it tells it, and you can't help but love it in the end. It leaves you a happy feling
lol, i wonder if thats even understandable, but well pretty much everything of how wonderfull this is has already been said, lol.
Now, for those (and i've seen theres quite a lot them) that stoped reading it, well i can of agree i hated arisu and i hated rin, i hated gyokuran (i really really hated him) i hated shuu, well i've hated almost every main character at some point, yet, i've come to be fond of them, they're just so human that you can't help it, they have their flaws and ups and downs and well. I can say just as a lot of you, i almost stoped was it not for the intriging plot lol, but by the end, you just come to love them all so, you don't really have to worry, unless you like perfect characters, cause theres none in here lol.
I started to read this manga and then stopped at around vol 3/4... It was just plain weird/boring. Then about a year later by chance I gave it another try. In the end I regretted that I hadn't continued reading much sooner, of course!
i went to the manga after finishing the anime which the anime ending was cut and left you hanging. i loved the beauty of this manga, the artwork, all the emotions and characters that she manga-ka poured into. However i felt that it was incredible draggy at parts which made it difficult to read on, but then again it might just be because I read it in one-two sittings. I actually got so into the past characters that i ended up liking them better than the present ones. Imo Alice was annoying...and i couldn't get into rin. i was always sad when a person woke up and stopped the flashbacks I'm a huge fan of mokuran and shion. I wish there'd be a manga just completely focused on them..or in the moonbase time. Personally i would have liked that better XD
An intense psychological romance story, the sci-fi/fantasy parts are really engaging once you get into it and the characters are very vivid. Admittedly the first few volumes were of a lower quality than the rest, I found it difficult to relate to the main character and the whole thing just didn't really interest me, so I stopped reading the first time, but something of it stuck with me and I went back to read the rest. The main character, despite being a crybaby, is really strong and I ended up liking her a lot. The climax is really great, action and angst and love all mixed in there, there are some really great twists and something of the message behind it will definitely stick with you. I would recommend it to anyone, even those who don't normally read shoujo but appreciate sci-fi and psychological themes. Just persevere if you're finding the first few volumes a bit rocky and I guarantee you will find something worth your time.
love love love love love love love love love love love it.It's really subtle with the plot of the characters in the future that are introduced and focused on for like 2 volumes - which kinda gets unnerving. The background story with Shion and Mokuren, etc. though is really interesting, and it draws you into the plot so well in the last few volumes. The problem with this series is that while the background story leaves a huge impression on the audience, the future/present story does not, so it feels like 60% of the story is just a side-story.
