I like the first two stories in this set - both are built on cliches, but are enjoyable and well done in any case.
The third story is wonderful - I haven't come across something like this before - a boy's take on valentines day, done in a shoujo style (so not all harsh and dramatic). Just sweet, and interesting.
I'm saying it's great and I'm giving this a ten because I just finished another typical shoujo and wanted to read something refreshing and I found this. No wimpy female lead, no bullying already wimpy female lead, no hero who's a complete jerk, no female lead hopelessly chasing after said jerk-hero.
1st Story--
A cool story about a great girl with a talent for matchmaking. I don't really like tropes about matchmaking heroines because it usually involves the heroine messing things up, adding more drama and pages and pages of angsting. This is a first for me where the heroine is lovable and the guy is cool without being an a**hole.
The heroine's got a great heart without being annoying. I've read shoujos with similar heroines who just come off trying too hard for readers to like her but this character just gives off a nice easy flow.
The ending was incredibly cute!

and the background to their moment was just funny and touching. All her friends came and I could totally hear the song "Kiss the Girl" playing somewhere.
2nd Story--
Haha, that was so surprising! I thought it would be the guy that was--but then it was--and then--haha, I love the heroine.
The story starts with the hero(who is awkward with girls) and his friends betting him to kiss a girl within a month. I don't usually like stories about bets and whatnot because the plot build up usually involves the coming-clean part.
But here, I actually liked it and not once did I get annoyed or frustrated at either character.
The scanlators did such a great job. The lines were just perfect and got me all smiley and a bit teary at times even.
Another thing I love about these stories is that the whole world doesn't revolve around the couple, it's wide but the secondary characters don't in anyway steal any spotlight.
Like the ending of the second story:

where they're standing in the rain...the scene isn't just them, all sweet under the rain...the mangaka is able to let the reader feel the situation with great subtlety. It's not just the resolution of the conflict, just one page says so many things. Like that the hero(shy and averse to social whatnots) is not embarrassed to say what needs to be said even with a whole crowd of judgmental passersby and so many more
The end scene(just like the previous story) is just lovely.
The mangaka doesn't just use the expressions of the leads but uses(and does it very well) the secondary characters as a great background to help direct the feelings of the reader.
This collection isn't mind-blowing like "Whoa!" but it's great in its own way and sometimes a manga doesn't have to have heavy drama or angst or tragedy or smut or whatever to be great. Worth my time and worth a ten.(The third story's ending was just beautiful too)
This manga is just another typical shoujo manga. Don't get me wrong because it was a good manga, but there are many like this. It is a good manga to read for a change of pace.
That's just what it is- cute and sweet and short; a collection of 3 adorable one shots. The characters aren't annoying, and I liked them all. It's not amazing or anything, but I definitely recommend it for a quick read that will make you smile. <3
I have just finished reading the second story, the "If someone like me will do" I completely fell head over heels for it! both characters are SO ADORABLE ! I tend to look at shoujo heroins who are a bit clueless like her annoying but I really loved me-chan! she is so funny and not pretentious at all! IM RATING IT A 10 just for the 2nd story! READ THISSS READ READ READDD
i'm not really a fan of short stories or oneshots but surprisingly i find the stories cute. it's tickled my fancy. i love all of the stories. it gave me a nice feeling. the characters are so likeable too so i totally recommend this manga.
The cover does not do this amazing manga justice! ) It's just so... lacking, lol. So don't let that fool you guys. It almost fooled me, if I didn't see Kawahara Kazune as the author, I wouldn't even read it.
Anyway, this anthology of one-shots is just sooo cute and lovely. It's really sweet but not to the point that you puke from too much sugar. The stories really progress smoothly and the characters are very likeable too. The title story is my favorite. It's just alskjdla cute and I think I've read it so many times already... but it never fails to deliver
Each story became one of my favorites. I can't even say which one was the cutest, because they were all so good!! I love how each plot is really original and different, and really refreshing... the heroine in each one is strong and likable, and the heRO in each one is also (amazingly) likable!!! The heros have a much deeper characterization than you'd normally see in a shoujo, that's for sure. Art is pleasant too. Anyways, definitely a keeper! =D
its so cute!!! i love it!!! i can relate to one of the stories!!! (not gonna tell...fufufufu) i mean they can actually happen in real life...(well to me actually...)
you have to read this if you have some time to spare and has to take your mind of some depressing things... -__-" (i think im weird...)
Indeed, people fall in love without realizing it that much.. seems to be the beauty in it as well.. these stories of Kawahara Kazune surely has that clearly pointed out with such characters in these different stories that they all are in.
