Most BL manga out there ended right after love confession arc when the main couple got together. Meanwhile here in "Complex" you can follow the protagonist's time progression in 4 volumes from childhood days to elderly age. If you've finished reading this one and looking for a better romance BL manga with similar themes (lifetime romance and eternal love) then I'd recommend Life Senjou no Bokura by Tokokura Miya.

Different ppl different views. In the early volumes it was ok (except for that pedo.) Cheating was never okay, and I don't think he ( tatsuya) deserve junichi for he's the one who made the promise first and then broke it, he's a coward with a fickle heart. Despite that junichi still loves him. Gosh, he truly need someone better. True love? Meh. Towards the end I hate him (and his son). Like father like son.

i read this long ago and tbh it was good, really this is really really good, the story is fun and complicated but still fun, kinda hilarious too in some part, and sad in the other part (most of it) but but... even i hardcore fujoshi.. i hope junichi can be happy idc with boy or girls just be happy huhu 😭 and fyi Junichi not gay at first place he become gay just because Tatsuya is special for him ;((((((( and fyi Tatsuya the one who fall in love first and then Tatsuya cheatin on him and choose woman.. when Junichi is so loyal to him, like wtf that part hurt me like a truck even until now

But this ended with good ending.. still you need tissue for this manga, theres lot sad part not only in the middle and in the end huhuhuhuhu this manga touched my heart so much.. this is emotion rollercoaster to me.. this manga both Sad, Heartwarming, touched, Funny (in some part).. but mostly sad huhu andd
We can see tatsuya and junichi since they are kids to teenager and they become grandpa even great grandpa...
i feel bad for Junichi still he is good Seme and good person.. you deserve love (╥_╥)
annd idk if i want to reread this again.. this is good manga indeed the drama is good the plot too but i dont think i will reread again its so hurt huhuhu

This was terrible. But considering the age of this manga, it deserves lenience. The art was good considering the style of its era, however the values presented in this manga was... yeesh, messed up. Portraying homosexuality as if a choice, maybe if viewing the characters as bi when reading this would be less uncomfortable, but being gay just for one person is simply unreasonable. One of the characters is major trashy with fidelity, but loves is blind I guess, so all can be ignored and forgiven (gag). The presentation of pedophillia as non-traumatic seemed off-putting, but there are resilient kids, so I won't judge too much. But it was somewhat realistic with the treatment of homosexuality in conservative societies. Also, WAY too dramatic.

I really don't know how to put it but this manga is really good yet the drama is to drama-ish to me (?)

The beginning is not really bothering me (yet if you not okay with pedophile you can skip some chapter in the desc had said) but what makes me have to give this 9 not 10 despite how i like the story is some chapters in the middle of the story is too....drama? Feels like watching a telenovela lol

Buttt for the good part:
- it potrays a realistic view of homosexuality
- likeable characters
- the ending!! I cried and make me think a lot about it, don't forget to read the author notes too!

If you want to read for a 'common yaoi manga' i'm not really recommend it since the sex part is not too necessary here 🙂 you will learn about love, friendship, and how to differentiate between it.

(For the art i don't really have a problem in here since it is a 90's yaoi manga)

I enjoyed the fact that every character had flaws and that they weren't some fictitiously perfect people. The story was good but there were some parts where the pacing sped up a bit fast for me and just flew through important time periods with little to no story. The periods that I feel are lacking a little in detail, the cross-dressing scene and the period when raising Ken comes to mind. The cross-dressing was never elaborated on and only happened for that one scene. Additionally I felt like the story wouldn't have suffered if the author had expanded on some of the difficulties of raising a child in a gay household. For the most part though I really enjoyed the story, enough to bother to write this review.

Honestly, I don't know if I would have been better off not reading it. Did I like it? Why, yes. Did I find it absolutely disgusting? Why, yes.
I really want to rate this a 10 and a 1 at the same time. The only decent and likable character is Junichi. Everyone else is either an absolute douche bag to Junichi or each other.

I have some very serious issues with this manga. I really do.
By end of the first volume I liked it, by the second volume I was going to stop reading because I just couldn't bear it anymore (the so, so, so twisted and wrong melodramatic cliches of the (women) homewrecker and youthful indiscretion), the third volume same, and I truly didn't hope anything from the fourth volume either but it got me; I cried so much And no I don't have low standards.
Honestly, I hate, dislike or am meh for every single character except for Junichi. And as crazy as it might be the 10 is for Junichi, only. I really do love him, and no matter what anyone says he really does deserve someone better than Tatsuya.
The art is to my liking and I believe fits the image of the story very nicely. The characters features change as they age which is definitely a positive point. Sometimes I even wondered if they were the same characters or not.

It's the only manga that made me cry this much.
I'm literally a mess after finishing this.....
After reading the ending I felt a sense of sadness and happiness at the same time.
Relationship are not always smooth sailing but they still find their way into their hearts and remain with each other till death do they part.
The cover may be a bit unappealing but the content is what it's great.
A truly magnificent manga.
It's like no other. I will forever treasure this in my heart......
