Well, I'm not going to say as much as the others....
But yes, this manga was the perfect read for me. You see, I love characters who have a dark past and is saved by the one they loved. THIS. WAS. IT.
I was caught in Yellow so badly, I finished it in less than 4 hours. After that, I downloaded it. And then ordered the whole set online. LOL This is just one of those yaoi stories that you just want to keep and treasure so badly!

In a nutshell,
a) Art was the classic style which I have no problem with~ (Some might though... This is probably the only downfall to those who procrastinate on reading it)
b) Story was sweet and LOVE the depth on almost every character~~
c) Recommendation? PFFT! I'd announce it to all the fujoshis if I could! XD

I fell in love with Yellow before during and after. 'Nough said.

My ultimate favorite yaoi!~

Where do I even start?? I've read a million yaoi mangas, some good, some extremely dissapointing and a waste of time but this one was beyond my expectations.

I'm one that reads a story and never picks it up again. It's like watching a movie twice and I dislike that sort of thing but I'll be honest, I've read "Yellow" about four times already. =_= and I am willing to read it once more.

The characters, the art, the plot, everything is just marvelous. You'll find yourself falling for Taki and Goh and rooting for them until the very end. It's romantic, sexy, with action and angst. Not only that but we're talking about an honest and devoted Seme who would do anything for his reluctant and sexy Uke; it's a yaoi fangirl's perfect couple.

At first, the art didn't satisfy me but then I realized how truly beautiful the art really is and even if the art was say, extremely ugly, I would still read it, because it's just that good.

Even the supporting characters had debth and that's not often seen. Unlike some yaoi, this one stayed focused on it's course and delivered in both the romance and the entertainment department without burning my eyes with drama like other yaoi manga.

Overall, this one is a MUST read. You really have read no good yaoi if you haven't read this one. And I must say, if you find yourself disliking this then your taste in manga are a little..... ^_^;

Waste no more time deciding on whether to read this or not by reading reviews, it's really a must read to determine how good it is kind of thing ^_^

It was okay. The art was okay, sometimes things were drawn weirdly but its okay. The plot is average and so is everything else. I think if the author had more experience then this could have been much better-the character's dynamic was nice but not done as well as it could have been. So it's nothing special but it isn't bad.

i loved it because of the characters, they really got me.
1.The uke wasn't the typical weak, girlish type and both of their personalities were highly likable and round (realistic/dynamic). Also, the mangaka built up the tension, angst and emotion. So it wasn't one of those typical 'i just met you lets have sex or rape rape rape' yaoi's that are so common. This has an actual story.
That said, this is my favourite yaoi manga i've read so far.

Found this manga by chance and I've got to say I'm so happy I did it. Unlike other mangas, the two guys really do look like actual guys and are the same age and height, nothing like one utterly feminine uke and a wary seme.

The plot is amazing and the art amazing.

Really worthed the time, it's simply perfect.

I can't even talk about the amazing art, because the plot is too much! *-*

It's been some time since I read Yellow for the first time.
And today I just felt like re-reading it too see if it was as good as a couple of years before.
Not only it is, but it's even better.
Yellow won't ever get out of my top 5, I guess.
But the difference is, before, I used too see things all too simply and sweetly. Now, whenever Goh pushes Taki down, all I see in his eyes is pain. It's beautiful.

Even knowing what's gonna happen, Yellow still gives me that apprehensive feeling...and I'm anxious every time they touch; the angst of Goh's thoughts when he thinks it's unrequited always gets to me.

As for the character, each one of them grew big in my heart. I'm not even going to try to explain how much I love Goh and Taki, but the others are all great too! Kanji pisses me off sometimes, though...he ALWAYS interrupts whenever they are getting to it...but he is a good person. Katsuro is SO different from what I expected! He is a good person, after all! As well as Kei!

I gotta admit I even cried when Taki said he would probably never meet "Sandfish" again (although I still hate Mizuki)

I totally LOVE how Taki's shy about it even when he admits to himself that he loves Goh. It makes everything so much more interesting! (and cute, of course!)

As for Taki...some people said he changed from the beginning to the end.I liked that, 'cause for me a story is only worth it when it adds something to the character's life. Of course he start to cry a lot, but he's not a whiny bitch. You shouldn't expect him to be the same, after all, he fell in love. And for the first time, as well.

The ending was really really sweet, and along with the whole manga, it had its cute bits in the details, such as Taki refusing a woman and finally responding to every one of Goh's actions, or being jealous just like Goh (Goh's reeeeally a possessive person, isn't he? Adorable! ^w^'), and even his passionate expression alone whenever he's with Goh is enough to compensate for Goh's cheesy lines.

Spoiler (mouse over to view)
I didn't like that they stopped being snatchers though =/

Overall, Yellow is so beautiful I don't even CARE for the sex. Although it does have some of the hottest scenes I've ever seen, not because of the content itself, but because they've wanted each other for so long.

But I guess of all the marvelous things, what I like the most it the concept of the whole manga. That even though it's a dangerous line of business, they'd take any risk. And they would do anything for love. And that's exactly how deep their love is, and why it's so stunning.

PS: Doesn't "Kirai Kiraimo"'s one-shot, "White Lily" looks like it's about Hatozaki and his brother?

Yellow was pretty good. The action plot was interesting and the romance part wasn't rushed. I prefer when romance plots aren't all "love/fall into bed at first sight-the end" because when the two characters finally do get together, it has a bigger impact. Makoto Tateno's art, while nice, is not really to my taste. She has a tendency to draw faces really really girly. Younger boys for example look just like shoujo heroines (big sparkly eyes). I prefer a more masculine style. I did appreciate the art even if it wasn't my favorite, and the great story more than made up for it.

This is one of my favorite yaoi manga, and on the list of yaoi titles that should get animated! It's not all hard man-on-man action, there's also a plot. I love how the story played out, and by the time I reached the ending, I was craving for MOOOORRREEE!!!!

It's also different from traditional yaoi wherein the seme is so manly, forces himself on the uke and ultimately gets what he wants; while the uke is girlish, feminine in appearance, and reluctant (but submissive) towards the seme. In this manga, both of them look like GUYS, meaning muscles and hard abs. But you know what? That makes the sex scenes even hotter!

Totally recommended!!!

This is indeed the best work of Makoto Tateno. The 2 main characters are so coolllllllllll and sexyyyyyyyyy. this manga marks Makoto-sensei's talent for Yaoi, not for shoujo. I really hate her shoujo.
