This is one of those mangas that stood out to me. It's short and yes, relies on a lot of shoujo cliches, but I didn't gag at them like I usually do. It feels like the mangaka told the story through images more than words and there's a beautiful, airy feeling in the story. I loved it.

When I said something about mature, its not that "mature". The whole plot mainly focus on arts. This manga is nothing but a heart-warming read. No confident in each characters .. and that's what make it more real, mature and calm.
This author is one of my favorite, I'd prefer to read something like this rather than an annoying shoujo manga in the future. Always. Worth my time reading.

If you have absolutely nothing else to read, go read this manga!
Oh, so the plot actually focuses on art. The only thing I remember is, that there is romance, which includes a love triangle. And yeah, the love triangle was pretty much predictable.
It has the shoujo-ish art, the cold male lead, the 'lovely' female lead, the ridiculous drama, the clichés, and the 'I fall in love faster than my mom can make breakfast for me'. Overall, it's a typical shoujo manga, though, I must admit, that it is a bit cute.

I'm honestly surprised at how many high votes there are for this, because I'm left wondering why I wasted my time on this. It's sugary sweet (which isn't a problem if you're in the right mood for it) and painfully clichéd, but it has a wonderfully soft, peaceful feel to it. So why did this leave me so cold?
I think the root of it is how unconvincing the whole story is. Usually I can forgive the most unrealistic of plots, but this is just too much of a stretch, even for me. Nanaka, Haijima and Mibu meets at beginning of a new school year when she joins the art club, and I'm supposed to believe that in the space of about 2 days (perhaps a week at maximum), they've all fallen in love? I can buy into the idea of a crush, but that's not it - by the 3rd chapter, two of them have at least professed to love the other and were floundering in the melodramatics of rejections, repressed feelings and whatnot. That is just plain ridiculous. Had this been paced better, I might have been more invested in the characters and their relationships, but the idea of 4 people bumping into each other and falling deeply in love just makes me snort. There's also a gaping plot hole at the end - what happened to the "I have to move overseas" thing, which was the main obstacle? Apparently, it's easily forgotten once the prescribed number of pages ran out and the author had to throw the leads together.
Another weakness due to the short length is the characters, none of which have any development whatsoever. Haijima is quiet, anti-social and bad at expressing himself, and apparently so is Nanaka. Mibu is the playboy who masks his feelings, and Meiko's... just the cheerful best friend. So why should I care about these people and their silly romance? I found Haijima particularly annoying - he's just there to look pretty, does one or two things that the female lead supposedly finds attractive, and POOF! we have a love interest. He's frankly a bit of a jerk, and it figures that the nice guy finishes last.
The only good thing I can say for this manga is that it has beautiful art and a lovely, serene atmosphere. Perhaps it would've been better had the author focused on the art theme and ditched the ridiculous love square? 24 Colors had potential, but in the end it really fell flat. It tried to go for too much and should have been either better paced or extended into at least 2 volumes... but on the other hand, I'd probably gag if this plot was dragged out any longer.

This was your typical sugar-sweet shoujo. I have a sweet-tooth...but this one was so bad it gave me a toothache. However, if you're the type who just wants that vomit-from-the-sweetness type of angsty romance in a quick 5 chapters...this is totally for you.

I think I found this series through the mangaka's earlier works, but anyway, I love this story.
Dont get me started on the art. Gorgeous. Breathtaking. Lovely. Just a few words thrown in to express my love for the art. No wonder--it's a manga based on art. As a fellow artist, I'm happy to say it gets two enthusiastic thumbs up XD
The story was very touching and sweet. I absolutely loved it--especially the ending. Gorgeous story.

well...talk about corny! I feel like any romance in general between artists ends up with them being unable to stop drawing their love interest's face...(sisterhood of the traveling pants, anyone?) anyway, i felt like this was WAY too whirlwind for my liking. Usually I don't really care, but it felt too fake and rushed.

Sickly sweet, gag-me-with-flower-petals plot. Not that that's a bad thing. But a plot like that will never be "great." The characters were decent, but everyone was just a bit too "nice" to be real. The strong part of this story was in it's very nice, smooth flow and good use of symbols to make the story complete in just a volume.
24 Colors is worth reading. Maybe not more than once, but it's a very good sample of the best of 1 volume shoujo works.

I just read the first chapter and it is one of my most favorite manga already. The art is wonderful - exactly what I like in which the manga is drawn lightly - not like the typical shoujo manga characters, and the plot is sweet and simple.

Refreshing. That’s what I would call this manga. With so much focus, on art and more specifically color, in the manga I feel it came across so well that when I even think about this manga I get a soft feeling that reminds me of light pastel colors. Weird I know but the feelings fits the manga so well that it makes me enjoy the manga all the more! (Please don’t think me too strange…)
Plot- A very simple plot, there aren’t any sudden twists or secrets of the past, and while some may find that a bit boring for some I found it very refreshing and relaxing to just have a straightforward manga with out any real complications.
Characters- The characters weren’t the greatest but they weren’t bad either. They can fit into the regular shoujo clichés, with the silent moody guy, the happy go lucky guy who is the rival, the heroine’s best friend in love with the rival and then the heroine herself who immediately falls in love with the moody guy. See? Formula characters, but for some reason they feel so unused and new in this manga. Maybe it’s because of how simple the manga’s plot was or maybe it was because of the un-clichéd scenes of the manga. Either way the characters were quite nice. But I can’t say I got all too attached to them either.
Art- Was very wonderful, great for a manga about art. The pictures were aesthetically pleasing, nice and soft strokes that fit the storyline so well.
Other- It’s short, and as is expected of a short work the two main characters fall in love fast . Maybe a bit too fast…. And while the story was enjoyable the ending was a bit open ended concerning the manga’s sole twist. But all in all the manga was very sweet and enjoyable and a quick read. I, for one, recommend this manga.
8/10 – Was good
