An Interesting Collection

Six different stories, and all of them affected me to varying degrees due to the different settings. The rape one is a no go as always. Aside from this, I find the rest quite interesting in how the characters are unique to the story and vice-versa. However, because there are six different stories Katou-sensei is not able to properly build up a story enough to desire its continuation. This is of course not to say that successful short stories are those that makes the reader desire for more, though that could be one indication of success, but rather there is a feeling of wanting to know what happens next, a curiosity, but one that is not quite strong enough to turn into a desire to know. Still, I do hope that I come to like Katou-sensei’s work in the future, they seem hold a wonderful potential.

To the honest I've never been really impressed by this mangaka. And it's such a shame, because I actually want to like her works very much for some reasons, but just can't. Her stories are always too mediocre or boring for my taste unfortunately. Sometimes I don't mind that as long as there's something to grab my interest, however it's sad to say that has never been the case for me with Katou Setsuko. And the same thing happens with her artwork. It's clean and neat, and I want to like it, but just can't find anything interesting enough within itself to really be mesmerised by it.
For me the only redeeming factor from the whole volume is the mangaka's portrayals of the couples based on their relationship and characters sitting in a couch at the end of most chapters. I think that's actually a very inspiring and refreshing idea; those drawings summed up the true essence of each couple's relationship perfectly. The concept feels suitably romantic, kinda reminds me of Hidaka Shoko's similar illustrations in Yuuutsu na Asa. But then this manga actually existed before Yuuutsu na Asa so I suppose that should be the other way around..?
Either way that was admittedly the only thing I was looking forward to at the beginning of each chapter.

i absolutely love this mangaka because of her way of simple setting and easy flowing story line. the story is kind of predicable but enjoyable at the same time (it doesn't bored you to death kind of predictable). her way of using everyday typical love setting but making it yaoi-cceptable is kind of nice.
the only thing i dislike about this author is the ONESHOT theme of her story... i need more from this author, because she has potential in making her story develop into something interesting
-love knows no boundaries-

I guess i'm in the minority that liked the stories. It's certainly not boring, or even complete cliche. The only thing i wish for, is for the stories to be longer, because i can see the characters/plot expanding more than it was portrayed.

I liked this manga. The art was wonderful and the characters were beautifully illustrated. I thought most of the stories had nice plots and was very impressed with the way the mangaka managed to make the relationships feel like they developed slowly and naturally even though they were all one shots. "Understated" would be a good way to describe this collection. There wasn't a whole lot of forced, unnecessary angst. With the exception of story four, they were all cute, pleasant little romances.
I particularly liked the first story and the sixth story. The third story had great characters and I would like to have seen that one turned into a short series. It's rare to see a pervert in yaoiland that isn't also a rapist. Further, he didn't parrot the stock perverted seme lines or use the stock perverted seme seduction techniques. "Has anyone ever told you they wanted to shoot on your face." is a good enough line that it surprises me that no one else has ever used anything even similar in all of the mangas I have read. It also surprises me that it worked on Masumi, but whatever.
I can't say that every story is a ten but each story had it's charms which is why I rated the whole package an eight and I will look forward to reading more mangas from Katou Setsuko.

I'm sorry to say this but the last story didn't even come close to making up for the other crappy 5. They were all extremely boring and lacking. Non of them felt like a complete piece. The fourth story was the only one that brought any feelings out of me but they weren't positive. I felt like slapping this mangaka for writing such a horrible oneshot. The only good thing that can be said about this manga is that the artwork was kinda nice.

I really like the art. It's very pretty, but the stories could improve. Most of the stories felt incomplete and some i just didn't like. Tho i did enjoy story 3 lol I'd say the best one was the last story. I liked that. But she could improve. The plus side was her art so a 7.

she definately has potential, but except for the 1st, 3rd, and last story, i felt unsatisfied by the others. and a little disturbed by them a bit, which surprised me.

most of the stories in this manga aren't too bad other than they are too short and hence undeveloped. i didn't so much mind the rape but there was one story that i hated.
the last story was definitely the best. unlike the other stories within this manga, it had a sense of completion and was a satisfactory read whereas the others where too short and felt incomplete.
Spoiler (highlight to view)
story 4 was rather disturbing and i find the plot or theme of father/stepfather raping the son or brother increasingly common in oneshots and i just find it absolutely disgusting and quite the mood killer. it's a plot devise to enable the characters to get together but seriously i think that is the worst way the mangaka could go about getting the characters together. i've read about 4 or 5 variations of these types of stroies in different mangas within the last 24 hrs.

I was checking the art and turned out the stories aren't bad at all. I didn't find the storytelling shallow or anything. The only minus is that shots end up all angsty. I mean really, the start is good and then this typical stuff surfaces
An interesting detail: stories' content gets more revealing, just like a couple between first 4 stories.
I liked the "Has anyone ever told you..?" shot better. At least the idea.
This is actually the first time I see someone pointed out eyelashes.
