I read all of Kayono's works (because it had THE smut and THE art in perfection). This was the latest one I read, and the ending (Hell's Warrior and Maiden) caught me off guard. I mean, all the stories I read that she wrote were 'happy endings' that it was irritating. The usual pattern was like 'secret-rape(or)-sex-obstacle-happilyeverafter-theend.I though this was going to be the same. But this. This was damn tearjerking. ( It takes a lot to make me cry). This had the perfect smut-supernatural-tragedy combination ever. I love her art, stories, smut but Kayono's tragedy in this one? It was damn realistic.
I really liked the main story in this volume. The characters are good, the plot is good... everything here is good. My only main complaint is the ending! I just feel like it's a bit of a disappointment... And since Kayono tends to turn even the most tragic ending into a happy one, you just sort of expect the ending to resolve itself a bit better... At any rate, it's a change from her usual ending, so I guess it's okay.
The extra "The Nude Tribe" is a really cute one-shot. The hero isn't quite my type, so the story was missing a good dose of bishie (for me), but the plot was cute and there was lots of naked people and humor... So what more could you ask for?
well it did made me rol my eyes a couple of times in the first chapter..but it almost made me cry in the latter parts..as usual the art was captivating but i think the smut just made it go bad...tsktsktsk...it would have been a favorite if the smut is more minimal....but i have to admit it does have a good story...
This is such a wonderful bittersweet story. The art is gorgeous (as is Shiryuu). The plot is nice, though short. It's definitely worth the read. There is even potential for a sequel if Kayono-sensei decides to go that direction. The heroine is definitely cliche; too much more of her would have been a bad thing, so I'm glad it stopped where it did with her.
The extra story, The Nude Tribe, is also quite amusing and a fun, short read.
ok, this manga is my favorite sad manga ever!! ;~; everytime i read it, at the end of story 1, i cry. and ive read this manga five times xD the second story is good too more amusing then sad though.
This is really good, and the ending is sad but at the same time hopeful (if that makes sense). Once again, Kayono has presented a beautiful and smutty manga BUT with a really good plot!
it's such a lovely story i wanted to read more on it....but i still cannot decide wether the end was sad or a happy one because the events were bitter sweet.
Omg. A smutty manga with a decent plot. THis is exactly what I've been looking for! I really liked all the stories but the first was the best. So sad...
